Installation of the eSkwela Moodle System on Windows


Before proceeding with the steps in this guide, you should have:
The eSkwela Installer disc containing the eskwela-moodle-xampp-win32-1.7.3.exe file.
Copy of the eskwela folder containing the e-Learning modules

1. From the disc given to you, copy and paste the eskwela-moodle-xampp-win321.7.3.exe to your desktop. Double-click on the file and let the installer run the process.

2. Within XAMPP installation, the installer will open a terminal window. Answer the
following questions in order to proceed.
a. Should I add shortcuts to the startmenu/desktop?- Select y then press
ENTER

b. Should I locate the XAMPP paths correctly Should I proceed? ;- Select
y then press ENTER.

c. Should I make a portable XAMPP without drive letters?- Select n then


press ENTER.

Then,
Press <Return> / ENTER.

d. XAMPP will automatically set the timezone of the application. Press <Return> /
ENTER.

e. Start XAMPP Control Panel. Select 1 then press ENTER.

f.

Install Apache and MySQL Services (Svc). Click the check boxes beside the
respective components name.

g. Start Apache and MySql by clicking Start beside the respective components
name.

h. Finish installation. Close the command prompt by selecting x and then press
ENTER. Close also the XAMPP Control Panel.

3. Opening eSkwela Moodle Site.


a. Open your browser, then type in to the address bar http://localhost/moodle.

b. Login to eSkwela Moodle Site.
Username: eskwelaadmin
Password: Eskwelaadmin1$ (case sensitive)

Importing the eSkwela folder (eLearning modules) into the local server
1. Copy and paste the eskwela folder (eLearning Modules) inside C:\xampp\htdocs
folder.

Configure the IP address of the eSkwela Moodle server


1. In the C:\xampp\htdocs\moodle folder, locate the config.php file.

2. Right-click on the file and choose Open and select Choose a program from a list of
applications
3. Choose Notepad from the list of applications.
4. Locate the line: $CFG->wwwroot = 'http://localhost/moodle' and replace localhost with
the IP address of your server. (eg. 'http://192.168.1.101/moodle')
5. Save and close the file.
