A View from the Shepherd

Todays First Reading tells us that God is pleased not with
pain, but rather in the faithfulness of the suffering servant. The
Second Reading reminds us that this suffering servant is truly the
Lord Jesus who shows to every human His sympathy, divine
compassion, mercy and grace. Not unlike the man in last weeks
Gospel, the Disciples had not yet understood that the only real
security and power come from trust in God. Neither wealth no
power can prevent suffering or death.
Oh, how I wish I could prevent any suffering or death in my own
life or in the life of each one of you. But if it comes, pray for
faithfulness, be secure in Gods great and compassionate love for
you, BE NOT AFRAID! I pray these words quietly to myself
each time I meet someone in a hospital or at a home visit, or when
providing a funeral service. YOU ARE NEVER ALONE! Our
Good Shepherd Parish Family is a wonderful example of Gods
compassionate and outstretched arms! I am amazed how you reach
out to one another, how you sympathize with one [Link]
you LOVE one [Link] as I see and feel your Witness of
Faith and Action, (whether at Baptisms or Funeral Services) I hear
the words in my mind that keep echoing. GOD IS WELL
PLEASED!
"Lost people matter to God,
and so they must matter to us."

Live Jesus in Our Hearts, Forever!!
