Choose two (2) of the following questions and write an essay response. Each question is worth
10 marks = 20 total for this section.

1. Imagine
you
are
an
economic
geographer
called
upon
to
advise
a
local
council
on
how
they
might
use
their
locational
advantage
to
host
a
local
music
festival.
Discuss
this
in
relation
to
some
of
the
concepts
you
have
learnt
in
this
unit.
You
may
write
about
this
in
the
abstract
or
using
any
named
examples
you
are
familiar
with.
2. Explain
-
with
reference
to
the
population,
urban
and
economic
trends
discussed
in
the
unit
-
what
has
led
to
the
urban
decline
in
a
manufacturing
city
such
as
Geelong
in
Victoria.
What
measures
might
a
city
government
introduce
to
address
this
decline?
3. It
has
been
suggested
that
a
whole
economy
model
(Friedmann,
1992)
be
used
to
consider
the
development
of
a
nation.
Explain
what
this
means,
and
evaluate
its
strengths
and
weaknesses
as
a
concept
compared
with
standard
measures
of
development
such
as
GDP.
