ABOUT SANDWIZZA
Indias one and only vegetarian sandwich chain where
everyone unwinds their appetite and heart with friends and
family. Sandwizzaa a truly Indian vegetarian experience of
sandwich, grills, toast and bite for our customers. Sandwizza
believes in SERVING HEALTH DELICIOUSLY and be
conscious in providing value for money and time spent by our
customers. Concept was born over two decades ago by
Omprakash Sharma and Mukesh Sharma later joined by
Pankanj Sharma from tiny shop located at Santacruz (W)
serving sandwiches to customers. Over the years it has earned
countless reorganization and has built up a very highly
satisfied customer base not only across the country but
overseas who kept coming back again and again. Over past
four years. Sandwizzaa got into the act of building systems and
processes to finally benefit our customers and bring effective
delivery of services by our employees. It was an uphill task, but
the concentrated efforts of more than 24 months in developing
and perfecting vegetarian sandwiches varieties. Indian taste,
packaging, your doorstep model, design, beverages offerings
have finally shown positive results. In a short span of time
sandwizzaa won the Burrp award with caption mouth
watering, hygienic sandwiches sandwzzaas first opened in
July 2008 at Thakur village, Kandivali(w) then after at Subhash
road, Villeparle(E), Link road, Malad(W) , Mahavir nagar,
Kandivali(w), Jb nagar, Andheri(e) and many more in Mumbai.
They are conscious for their customer nutrition requirement,
after all sandwizzaa is probably the one and only vegetarian
sandwich chain in the country

PROBLEMS FACED BY SANDWIZZAA AND THEIR
SOLUTIONS:
PROBLEM 1: Huge Competition from the nearby food
courts:
There are as many as 10 food stalls nearby Sandwizzaa,
Kandivali (W) Branch that we visited. These food stalls in the
nearby provide a variety of fast food options to the customers.
Most importantly, Cheelizza, Saras fast food , which is next to
Sandwizza, also specializes in Sandwiches. Thus they provide
direct competition to Sandwizza.
SOLUTIONS:
1) The taste that Sandwizzaa offers is highly appreciated by the
customers and is the main reason why people prefer Sandwizzaa
over others in spite of their premium pricing. Thus there
shouldnt be any compromise in terms of taste in the future as
well as taste is the main reason for customer loyalty in this case.
2) Constant improvement in service quality, in terms of quick
processing of orders, especially during peak hours i.e. 6 p.m. to
9 p.m.
3) Tie up with E-commerce sites like Food Panda provides them an
option to serve online clients as well. Moreover Foodpanda
provides additional discounts from their end, which further adds
in combating the competition faced by Sandwizzaa
PROBLEM 2: Improvement in hygiene
Well Sandwizzaa does provide basic hygienic food, but we
believe they can really improve on that. The vegetables are
washed properly and the staff members are properly dressed.
They even clean the store twice or sometimes thrice a day.
However, we noticed that they do not use hand gloves while
cooking.
SOLUTIONS:
Whatever you do, make sure your presentation is the best.
Plastic gloves for instance maybe a small thing but this kind of
hygiene the public notices. So they can implement that in the
short-run as well as it doesnt cost too much but surely does add
Hygiene value to the food. The manager even gave us the
assurance that they would implement this in the near future.
Also the tables are cleaned only when we ask the cleaners over
there to clean it, otherwise they remain unclean, as left by the
previous customer. This problem especially happens during the
peak hours. Although most of us would ask them to clean it, but
we believe it should be done by the cleaners immediately a
customer leaves. This may not happen in most Sandwizzaa
outlets, but it did happen when we visited the store. So its just a
suggestion for the cleaners to clean the tables immediately after
a customer leaves the table.
ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE AT SANDWIZZAA:
Organizational structure affects organizational action in two big
ways:
1) It provides the foundation on which standard operating
procedures and routines rest.
2) It determines which individuals get to participate in which
decision-making processes, and thus to what extent their views
shape the organizations actions.

There are no Functional heads, as the number of employees for
each of the above function is very few. The store manager
focuses mainly on building relationship with the customers and
co-ordinates with members of each of the departments as per
the need.
The orders, once received at the counter are co-ordinated with
the cooking department, so as to inform the customer about the
waiting time as well as to co-ordinate the special demands of the
customers.
Also for online orders, the ordering department co-ordinates with
the Delivery Boys so as to provide necessary information to
them.
Ordering Department as well as cooking department directly coordinates with the cleaning and serving department.
Thus there is inter-department co-ordination between the staff.
Also the manager is approachable for all the departments and
they can directly share their problems with him.
We cannot say any department is less useful or less important,
as every department has their specific roles and any delay by
any of the department would result in poor service delivery.
Thus we conclude that the organization structure is a Functional
Structure, but because the number of employees is few in
number, they do not have functional heads. Also in terms of
communication, the organization is flexible, with communication
flowing upward as well as downward.
ORGANIZATION DESIGN AT SANDWIZAA
Sandwizzaa has a flexible, adaptable & informal form of
organisation which defines adhocracy structure. The adhocracy
structures are best suited to traditional organizations. With the
sandwizzaa bureaucracy, complexity and centralization are far
too limiting. Here, sandwizzaa typically bring in experts from
variety of areas to form creative, functional team. In sandwizzaa
decision are decentralized and power is delegated to whenever
its needed. This can make organizations very difficult to control.
The sandwizzaa has clear advantage of having this adhocracy
structure as they maintain central pool of talent from which
people can be drawn at any time to solve problems and work in
a highly flexible way. Sandwizzaa workers typically move from
team to team as projects completed, and as new projects
develop. This structure can respond quickly to change, by
bringing together skilled experts able to meet new challenges in
sandwizzaa. However, there can be lots of conflict when
authority and power are ambiguous. And dealing with rapid
change is stressful for their cooking chef or other support staff. It
is common structure choice and its popular with young
organizations that need the flexibility it allows to their employee.

Comfort - He is very open and collegial. He is humble and
very dedicated to his work. He is polite in his speech and
open while speaking. He discussed on various aspect of the
business and shared his experience about the business. He is
very candid.
Motivation - He shares his Ideas as well as encourages his
staff to share their Ideas. He is dynamic in his ideas and work
according to changing environment. He helps his staff
whenever needed. If any of the staff members are not
present he look forward and work on behalf of him. He is
congruent with his staff. At a time is strict as well as more
down to earth.

These are the different types of sandwiches that they
offer. Most of these varieties would not be found in the
nearby food joints. This gives them a competitive
advantage over the others; especially the [Link]
sandwich is highly appreciated by the customers. They
also provide an option of brown bread which makes
them different as compared to competitors.
TOAST SANDWICHES
Chocolate walnut toast is a differential variety of
sandwich that is offered only by sandwizzaa. Its
made of Rich Belgium Chocolate.
BITES
These are the different types of bites that are offered at
sandwizzaa.
SPICEZZAA
This is the special
sandwich masala which
is a patented product of
sandwizzaa. This is even
offered as a separate
offering to the
customers.
Customer Satisfaction at
Sandwizzaa:
The store that we visited is rated high by the
customers who have visited this outlet.
They have a 3.6 rating on Zomato, an online rating
site, where customers rate their experience about the
restaurants that they visit. This rating is pretty high as
compared to other food joints in the vicinity.
Also the reviews posted on Zomato by the customers
are majorly positive and Sandwizzaa replies on most of
the comments weather they are positive or negative.
This shows that they care about the customers
feedback.

Also when we visited the store, we asked the
customers out there about their experience at
Sandwizzaa and the response was majorly positive.
The mayo sandwich is my favorite and thats my lunch
for twice a week. says Sudhir Mishra, a college
student and a regular customer at Sandwizzaa.
This prompted us to try mayo Sandwich, and to our
delight, it turned out to be very delicious.
Also the store manager takes every effort to get the
feedback from every new customer at the store and is
very good at building relationship with the customers.
In a business venture like this, loyal customers are every
managers delight and he makes each and every effort
to get the customers visit the store again. This is one of
the main reasons why they have been able to keep
premium pricing in spite of huge competition.

In order to get an

sandwizzaa can come up
with a new variety of
sandwich, called fruit
sandwich. As it contains
fresh fruits it would be
high in terms of protein
contain and would really be preferred by people who are
health conscious. Infect it can really change the
conception of people about junk food as a fruit sandwich
could be a part of healthy diet. Also no other food joint
offers such kind of a sandwich so sandwizzaa can take
the advantage of being the first mover.
