Super Frame Structure

The document discusses super frame structures and provides details about the Eiffel Tower. Super frame structures are constructed by joining various types of frames together to form a framework, like bridges, buildings, and cranes. The Eiffel Tower is given as an example. Further details provided about the Eiffel Tower include its height of 312 meters, weight of 10,100 tons, and elevator access. The tower's foundation is 15 meters deep with four pillars at each leg supporting the iron frames, which were all prefabricated and assembled on site due to iron's strength and lightness compared to other materials.

CONSTRUCTION REPORT

FOURTH YR BARCH.

SUPER FRAME STRUCTURE

Super frame structures are the structure which are constructed by joining various types of frames
together.

These are structures that are built by putting strips of material together to form a Framework. Bridges,
buildings and cranes are examples of Frame structures

Examples of this type of construction are

Eifel tower
Statue of liberty.
EIFFEL TOWER
height of Eiffel tower is 312 m
Weight of tower is about 10100 tones
From ground floor to second floor 5 elevators are provided. From second floor to top floor two set of duo
lifts are provided
CONSTRUCTION
The foundation of Eiffel tower is 15 m deep. In each of this foundation four pillars of masonry are built,
which bear the four upright of each leg of tower know as rafter.
All parts of Eiffel tower are prefabricated, it is been made of iron. All iron frames are assembled on site.
Reason why Eiffel tower is made of iron is that as iron is ten times more resistant than wood and 2o
times more resistant than stone, relatively metal construction gives lightness to structure as compared
with other materials.
The basic structure of the tower is lattice work columns at each corner of the tower, in which diagonals
connects four four elements, thus making it stiff, but light in weight. Composite columns are with an area
of 800 sq inches These four elements are assumed to rise along curve of actual columns and meet near the
top
