The Time and Love Story
Once upon a time, there was
an island where all the feelings
lived:
Happiness, Sadness,
Knowledge, and all of the
others including Love.
One day it was announced to
the feelings that the island
would sink, so all prepared their
boats and left. Love was the
only one who stayed.
When Love was almost sinking,
he decided to ask for help.
Richness was passing by Love
in a beautiful boat. Love said,
Richness, can you take me
with you?
Richness answered, No, I
can't. There are a lot of gold
and silver in my boat. There is
no place here for you.
Love decided to ask Vanity who
was also passing by, Vanity,
please help me!
I can't help you, Love. You are
all wet and might damage my
boat, Vanity answered.
Sadness was close by so Love
asked for help, Sadness, let
me go with you.
Oh... Love, I am so sad that I
prefer to go alone!
Happiness passed by Love too,
but she was so happy that she
did not even hear when Love
called her.
What do you think will happen
to Love?
Yes, Jeron?
Love will die.
Why do you think so?
Because no one wants to help
love.
Any other answer?
Yes, Jane?
There is someone who will help
Love.
Lets see what will happen.
Suddenly, there was a voice,
Come Love, I will take you.
It was an elder. So blessed and
overjoyed, Love even forgot to
ask the elder where they were
going?
When they arrived at dry land,
the elder went her own way.
Love asked Knowledge,
another elder, Who helped
me? It was Time.
Time? But why did Time help
me?
Because only Time knows
your true greatness and what
you are capable of. Only Love
can bring peace and great
happiness in this world.
3. Post reading
Did you understand the story?
Yes!
Who are the characters?
Yes, Hannah?
Love, Time, Knowledge, Vanity,
Richness, Happiness and
Sadness.
Correct!
Where is the setting of the
story?
In an island.
Youre right!
What do you think is the lesson
of the story?
Yes, Bernadette?
People do not realize the value
of love until they lost it. Only
time will show it.
Very good!
The important message is that
when we are prosperous, we
overlook love. Even in
happiness and sorrow we
forget love. Only with time do
we realize the importance of
love. Why wait that long? Why
not make love a part of your life
today?
While reading the story, I asked
you to guess, what do you think
will happen to Love?
So, what do you think is our
next lesson for today?
Yes, Kim?
Our next lesson for today is
about predicting outcomes.
Exactly!
Kindly, read, Hannah.
Predicting Outcomes
You can make a prediction
when you use clues from the
story, together with what you
know from your own
experiences, to figure out what
will happen next.
You can predict outcomes
according to:
your prior knowledge
the clues given in text
your feeling
So, when you are predicting
outcomes, it is important to:
1. read the details carefully
2. use what you already know
3. look for clues to help you
For example, if you see a
bunch of storm clouds in the
sky moving towards you, what
do you think will happen?
Yes, Franklin?
The possible outcome might be
that it will rain in the near
future.
Correct!
Another example, you walk into
a room and this is what you
see: blood on the floor, an
empty birdcage, and a happily
purring cat. You put the clues
together and conclude that?
Yes, Jethro?
The cat ate the bird.
Very good!
E. Application
Lets have an activity.
Class, kindly read.
Beth was alone in the
basement and it was dark. The
only thing she could hear was a
small scratching sound. What
do you think will happen next?
What is the answer?
She will run.
Correct!
Next, Francis.
Tami loved biking. She had
biked in all kinds of weather.
She had been planning this
bike trip for weeks. Today was
going to be great. She woke up
early and looked out the
window. It was raining!
What do you think will happen?
Tami will go on the trip anyway.
Very good!
F. Generalization
Again, what is our story for
today?
Yes, Grace?
Its about time and love.
What about time and love?
Time has a wonderful way of
showing us what really matters.
Exactly!
And, what is the other lesson
for today?
Yes, Yanica?
Our lesson for today is about
predicting outomes.
Very good!
Correct!
When you are predicting
outcomes, it is important to
what?
Yes, Francis?
It is important to read the
details carefully, use what you
already know and look for clues
to help you to predict what will
happen next.
Very well said.
Is it clear, class?
Yes, maam!
