Foreword
{SO (the international Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of
‘ational otandarda bodies {160 member bodies). The work of preparing Intertatioral
Standards is normally carried out through ISO technical committees. Each membor
body interested in a subject for which a technical committea has beon established ha
‘the right to be represented on that committos. International organizations, govern-
‘mental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. {SO
collaborates closely with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all
‘matters of electrotechnical standardization.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committoes are circulated to
the member bodlos for approval before their acceptance as International Standards by
the ISO Council. They ere approved in accordance with ISO procedures requiring at
least 75 % approval by the member bodies voting,

Jib cranes
1 Scope
‘This part of ISO 4301 establishes classifications for jib cranes,
‘other then tower cranes, mobile cranes and railway cranes,
based on the number of operating cycles to be carried out
during the expécted life ofthe equipment and its mechanisms,
fand a load spetiam factor which represents the nominal state
of loading,
2. Normative reference
‘The following standard containg provisions which, through
reference in this text, constitute provisions of this part of
1S0 4301. At the timo of publication, tho adition indicated was
valid. All standards are subject to revision, and parties to
agreements based on this part of ISO 4201 are encouraged t0
investigate the possibilty of applying the most recent edition of
the standard indicated below. Members of IEC and ISO main-
