Tyler's math teacher, Renee Weisenstein, suggests moving Tyler from Algebra to Basic Algebra based on a skills assessment. Tyler scored only 1 out of 12 questions involving solving basic one- and two-step equations. The teacher believes this foundational skill is necessary for success in Algebra. Susie Leerar, Tyler's mother, agrees to the change after discussing it with Tyler and alleviating his concerns about being viewed as "dumb" or having his schedule disrupted. The change will take effect at the start of the next quarter.
