Big Problem of Racism in Our Country

In this article, Catherine explains the controversial question of how big of a problem is racism in
our country and explains how it grows every year.
After Catherine and her crew did a examine in a new nationwide poll conducted by CNN and the
Kaiser Family Foundation, they found out the result was roughly half of Americans 49% say
racism is "a big problem" in society today.
Catherine shows how racism is getting bigger every year, she stated that the percentage is also
higher now than it was two or three decades ago. Which this year where the bias we’ve seen in
the media, that seems to spend all its time talking about the bad policemen and the bad white
people and ignoring the crime and the awful conditions that are happening in large part of the
black youth.
This article gives me a good overview of my topic with the controversy about racism is a really
big problem in our country; which it can help me to backing up with my topic on racism by
looking back some of the graphs that was provided in this article. It gives me more information
than I already know which helps me to understand more.

After studying on the issue of stereotype, Mcleod have found that stereotypes exist of different
races, cultures or ethnic groups. The use of stereotypes is an important way in which we
understand our social world, which is one of the reasons for prejudice attitudes that people had.
McLeod open up about how we assume that a person has a whole range of characteristics and
abilities that we assume all members of that group have, which turns to a social categorization.

I would say that this article helps me more to understand about my topic because it really
explains every detail that the author says. By reading this article I learned that us the people
we’re the one who makes things complicated but that doesn’t start with us exactly, it starts with
the people with power. This problem doesn’t really have an equal chances for everyone until our
organization take particular actions to end that thinking and those policies.

The author of this article has a campaign to support the work of anti-racism which is called the
"Racism. It Stops with Me", through that he investigate the different types of things to improve
and solve the problem of racism.
Tim shows that the way we stop racism is it has to start with us because all of us have our part to
be involved in our everyday lives. Which means that communication about racism don't always
need to involve a belief in racial supremacy or even racial malice means an evil intention. He
stated that racism matter to us but that doesn’t mean we need to stand in every victim of racism,
because for example, to step down the task of stop sexism to women alone.

As I read through the article,she examines how does racism get a punishment when it becomes to
a job place and if it involves a crime.
Ruth shows that racism doesn’t have a punishment but if it becomes to a particular situation like
a job place or when it involves crimes.
In this article I learned that racism doesn’t have a exact punishment. There is no punishment for
racism in the US unless it reaches the level of crimes or threats of crimes against person or
property. We just need to leave it alone, you can't change it, and even trying to do anything will
make things worse. This is a big opener for me because I didn’t have a idea about the
punishment for racism. This would help me to support my background research.
