Timetables
o Do it in ENGLISH as much as possible
Any non-OET fill task can help you practice
o Look at the words next to the gap

TIPS for Reading Part B
Manage your time (20 minutes for the first text)
Ensure your choice answers the question
Save yourself some time to double check your answers
Keep track of the overall meaning of the text as you read
Read at a meaning level, not just a word level
Pause at the end of each paragraph
o What’s the main point?
o What does the writer want to achieve?
At the end of a text, ask:
o What’s the line of argument?
o What’s the writer’s opinion?
Don’t feel the need to know every word
Build a vocabulary list:
o Study words that aren’t unique to that medical topic
o Limit yourself to 6-8 new words to study per day
Boosting your ability to understand a text without knowing every word is just as important as
building the vocabulary
