145 points of sale, 30% BTB / 70% BTC-2500 employees, 75 000 sales

procurement and materials management, financial management, assets
management, and manufacturing processes using SAP R/3 Enterprise
version 4.7. The project will include Training and change management for

wire rod markets.
Severstal’s Cherepovets Steel Mill is one of the world’s largest standalone
integrated steelworks by capacity (11.9 mln. tons of crude steel produced in

as a workflow developer.
4 Documenting the day to day issues for the technical objects and

systems for cutting operations. Sandvik Mining is a supplier of equipment,
cemented-carbide tools, service and technical solutions for the excavation
in the mining and construction industries. Sandvik Materials Technology is
a manufacturer of high value-added products, advanced stainless
materials, special alloys, metallic and ceramic resistance materials, as well
as process systems.
The EBP Program in Sandvik is to change their existing CBP (legacy)
system with an integrated SAP system with the objectives of - Operational
excellence through Global Processes, increase customer service level
though Information Excellence, enable future business initiatives, Speed -
shorten implementation time for future business needs, Improve ability to
analyse business globally.

Personal Contribution:
Sabyasachi worked in the blue print preparation phase of the project. His
main role in the project was SAP Workflow architect. Following are the main
activities –
1 Sitting with the business people to understand the different
workflow scenario and help them to prepare blue print document of
different processes.
2 Developing some workflow prototype objects and presents that to
client for the proof of concept. This also helps the business people
to understand the different aspects of SAP Business Workflow.

3 Developing some UI screen in ABAP WebDynpro and integrate
those with SAP Workflows.
4 Help other teams by providing technical SAP ABAP support
5 Writing down the technical documents of the corresponding
functional specifications of different RICEFW objects.

Client Name: Ace Hardware

Project Description:
ACE Hardware is a $3.7 billion wholesale distribution co-op headquartered
in Oak Brook, IL. ACE's strategy is to drive value to their retailer/owners
through a stronger integration of processes and more focus on the end
customer product sales instead of the pure wholesale business. This
initiative to operationalize this strategy was designated as the Business
Transformation program.

ACE initially engaged IBM to assist with supporting their ERP package
selection process between SAP and Oracle. SAP was selected as ACE's
solution because of its robust capabilities in wholesale as well as a strong
position in the retail space. IBM was further selected to assist ACE with
developing a program roadmap for implementing SAP. After a successful
initial implementation, IBM is now currently engaged in the Business
Transformation Realization phase for SAP.

Sabyasachi’s role in the project was that of an onsite coordinator for 1 year
& then TAC Delivery Lead for the ABAP Team. Another role of the project
was the designer of the Workflow objects. In phase-2 of the project he
designed 5 workflows in SAP Purchasing & FI.

Objectives as Onsite Coordinator:


1. Prepare the High-Level Design document from the Functional
specification which would be sent to development team for
preparing Technical Specification & Object development
2. Writing the High-level design document for all the Workflow objects
sitting with the business & functional people. Helping the offshore
team to develop these projects by proving necessary technical
inputs & after develop completion integration testing of all these
objects.
3. Sit with Business to understand Ace's business process on different
areas like - DMPS (Delivery Management Planning System),
Master Data etc

SBBC covers the same geographic area as Broward County, and provides
elementary, secondary and vocational educational services to the
unincorporated areas of the County and all of the 31 incorporated
municipalities within the County, the largest of which is the City of Fort
Lauderdale.
SBBC has a student enrolment that is the second largest in the State and
the sixth largest in the United States. For school year 2005-2006, SBBC
had approximately 271,000 students enrolled in grades pre-kindergarten to
12 in 262 schools. Overall, for school year 2005-2006, SBBC had 138
elementary schools, 42 middle schools, 28 high schools, 6 adult/vocational
schools, 10 centres and 38 charter schools.
IBM will assist the School Board of Broward County (SBBC) with the
enterprise-wide software re-implementation of their Human Resources and
Payroll systems as well as the implementation of their financial system and
other related business applications.
