PDM Installation Guide for Users

To install PDM, select the installation file from the provided file location and choose either SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional or SOLIDWORKS PDM CAD Editor only. Select integration options and click install. After installation, open View Setup and select the server and archive location. Open Administration and add new users by copying settings from an existing user. Log in with windows credentials to access the archive and complete the installation.

How to install PDM


The installation file location: \\pdm\NUOVAMACUT\2017 SP2.0\swpdmclient

Select SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional>

Select SOLIDWORKS PDM CAD Editor only for technical team.
For the rest users select SOLIDWORKS PDM Contributor>
*if we select CAD Editor: then we will check also Integration with Microsoft Office
and DraftSight

Select both options> and then click install.

After finishing the installation, open View Setup from Windows menu
First step is to select Server>

Then select archive>

Hit next and then select location only for this user.

After finishing - open Administration from Windows menu

Then open GEA_SRL archive with administrator account and select users> Right
click and select New User

Select> User List (elenco utente), then select a user and then select a user from which
you want to copy the settings:

Then open GEA_SRL on C: drive and log in with your windows credentials>

After login, you will see this window, which means that the installation has been
completed successfully>
