Steel Cable and Structural Stress Calculations

1. The total elongation of a 200m long steel cable with a cross-sectional area of 3 cm^2 suspended vertically is calculated to be 0.004762m. 2. For a steel bar under tensile load, the axial stress, strain, total elongation, lateral strain, reduction in width/thickness, and equivalent lateral stress are calculated. 3. For a tapered round post under a horizontal force, the maximum stress is calculated to be 20.12 N/cm^2 and would occur 83.33cm up from the base.
