Adding Dissimilar Fractions Lesson Plan

This instructional plan has the following objectives: 1) teach students to add dissimilar fractions; 2) have students complete different learning activities; and 3) help students appreciate their math skills. The lesson will focus on adding dissimilar fractions using cut-outs, regions, and algorithms. Students will participate in direct instruction, modeling, guided and independent practice problems. For assessment, students will complete additional fraction addition problems and select a follow up activity to reinforce the concepts learned.
