RE: Letter of Recommendation for Jayda Wynia

To Whom it May Concern,

I am writing this letter in support of Jayda Wynia for a teaching position in your school
district. I have known Jayda for about one and a half years, as I have been her instructor
in two courses here at the U of L. I also was in close contact to Jayda’s PS II supervisor
and received weekly updates on her progress during this practicum. I have also received
updates from Jayda as she has been completing her final practicum- PS 3.

Jayda was an excellent student during the courses I taught her- Curriculum and
Instruction (PS I) and Curriculum and Instruction for Physical Education Majors (PS II).
She made a positive contribution to the learning environment and got along well with
others. She did a great job in peer teaching situations throughout the semesters. Jayda
knows the Alberta curriculum well and has tried different strategies and approaches for a
successful lesson. Some of the other topics that were discussed in depth included: lesson
planning, differentiated instruction, classroom climate/management, unit and year
planning, assessment & evaluation, and teaching styles and curriculum models.

Jayda believes that physical education should be just that- physical education. Her
students come away from each lesson in the gym with a deeper understanding of their
physical body and ways to move it effectively. She makes every attempt to meet the
needs of diverse learners as she plans exciting, engaging lessons.

Jayda is a team player and always smiling. She has a very positive attitude, even in
difficult situations. She would be an asset to any school who is lucky enough to hire her.

I do not hesitate in recommending Jayda as a teacher in your district. If you have any
questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Daniel Balderson, Ph.D.
