modified PFDs for a facility to produce fatty alcohols from FAME using Aspen HYSYS in consultation with other process
design engineers. Generated optimization problems to maximize efficiency and minimize capital and operating costs.

laboratory testing of various dairy and juice products; resolved material balance problems related to day-to-day production;

Market Feasibility Studies – Conducted literature survey on demand-supply scenario for raw materials and products, defined
ideal plant location and supply chain management and performed profitability analysis
PFD Development – Modeled, simulated and optimized the flowsheet using Aspen HYSYS V8.6; generated and solved
optimization problems to select the right equipment combination – pump vs. compressor, flash vessel vs. distillation column
vs. extraction column vs. absorption column vs. stripping column; developed mass and energy balance specifications for
individual streams and equipment in the flowsheet.
Detailed Process Equipment Design – Developed detailed designs for reactor, distillation column and storage tank along with
pump selection and line sizing.

corresponding control philosophy.
