Objective
The purpose of this document is to demonstrate all the major Product features of Install Base.

What's New?
History Transaction Purge-Install Base provides a utility to support the purge of history
transactions tied to an instance. Given a start date, the utility can be run to purge all the
transaction data with dates older than the specified date to a table for storage.

Component Replacement Enhancement in the Oracle Order Management-Oracle Install


Base Integration- The to-be-replaced component actually is detached from a customer product
configuration and the newly shipped item takes its place, if the to-be-replace item is specified in
the non-source section of the transaction detail of the sales order line.

 Saved Searches can be created based on following categories or a combination of any of


these categories:

 Party Accounts
 Current Location
 Installed AT

 Orders
 Assets
 Contract
 Other Information

 In order to create a Saved Search to display all the products owned by Business World,
with Accounting Classification as Customer product input the following Values:

 Expand Party by clicking on the cone

 Extended Attributes can be set at four levels

 Inventory Item
 Instance

In this flow we will demonstrate as to how we can set extended attributes for an Inventory
Item

 Select Inventory Item (Radio button) under Access Level region

 Select Vision Operations (LOV) in Org Name field

 Enter value for Item (LOV) field

Item = AS54888

Item description gets populated.

 Select Values for

Find Instances form is launched

Find Instances form provides you different ways you can query instances from the
Installed Base. Query instances based on
 Instance Details,
 Item Details,
 Party Details,
 Party Account Details,
 System Details,
 Current Location Details
 Install Location Details

Instances can also be queried on any combination of values

In this kernel we will query up all the instances owned by Business World and with
Install Location Details matching 2391 L Street

 Select Business World (LOV) in Name field in the Party Details region

 Enter value for Type (LOV) and Location fields in Install Location Details region

Location Num and Location ID gets defaulted

Find Instances form is closed and Mass Edit/Future Dated Transaction form becomes
the active form with a list of instances populated in the Instance Details region based on
the search criteria

 (B) Save

Saves the search query results and these will be the instances, which can be updated

Status Code gets populated with SCHEDULED

You can select and unselect some of the instances from the list by checking and
upchucking the box next to the instance.

If you uncheck an instance, that instance does not get updated when you Submit Various
details can be updated using Mass Edit program like
 Party Source,
 Name,
 Relationship,
 Active Start date,
 Active End Date,
 Account information,
 Contact information and
 Location information.

In this flow we will show how to change the Install Location details for the instances
queried previously

 (T) Location in the Party Details region

Locations region is displayed

 Enter value for Install Loc Type (LOV) and Install Location (LOV) fields

Product History page is displayed with the history of transactions that has occurred
against this instance

Note under General Attributes region you can notice the date and time this instance was
created

Under Contacts region notice that a new contact has been added on 15-Mar-2002

You can also notice any Assets attached to this instance, any additional attributes
created and other transactions that occurred against this instance

 (H) Transaction

View latest transactions at a more detailed level

List of all the latest transactions against this instance are displayed under View Latest
Transactions region

 (H) Transaction Number under Transaction ID field for which you want to see details

Management. The Assembly ASS6629 (SN#0722AB05, Item Instance#195157) has a component

7220031) via OM.
