TYPES OF FIRE EXTINGUISHER


1. Water and Foam
Extinguish the fire by taking away the heat
element in fire triangle. Foam agents also
separate the oxygen element from other
element. Works for Class A fire only
2. Carbon Dioxide
Takes away the oxygen element in fire
and also be removing heat with very cold
discharge. Works for Class B&C fires.

3. Dry Chemical
Interrupts the chemical reaction of the fire
triangle. Most widely used type that is
effective for Class A,B,C fires
4. Wet Chemical
Removes heat in the fire triangle and
prevents re-ignition by creating a barrier
between oxygen and fuel elements.
Developed for Class K fires.

5. Dry Powder
Similar to dry chemical except that it
separates fire by separating fuel from the
oxygen element or by removing the heat
element. Effective for Class D.

immediately upon hearing a
continuous siren.
