Ayurvedic Cooking and Food Guide

Ayurveda classifies foods into three categories - sattvic, rajasic, and tamasic - based on their effects on the mind and body. Sattvic foods like fruits and vegetables are light and easy to digest, and promote health. Rajasic foods like spicy foods can increase passion but may disrupt balance. Tamasic foods like processed foods are heavy and dull the mind. Ayurveda also considers six tastes and how foods affect the three doshas (vata, pitta, kapha). It recommends seasonal diets and lists favorable and unfavorable foods for balancing each dosha.
