REVISION THROUGH TEACHING (RTT Session II)
Dear Parents
Chitkara International School strives to provide it‟s students with a platform to enhance their
knowledge and develop their speaking, reading and writing skills thereby developing their
personality and inculcating confidence in them while delivering a presentation through an
innovative peer group teaching technique, „Revision Through Teaching‟.
Revision Through Teaching (RTT) is a unique teaching concept where Grade 4 students
will teach a topic of their interest to Grade 3 students and so on. This year the RTT Sessions
are bifurcated into two i.e RTT Session I and RTT Session II. This is to facilitate the child
to gauge his/her shortcomings in RTT Session I and then improvise the same in RTT
Session II. The comparisons of both the sessions will be depicted graphically in the Report
Card.
“Revision Through Teaching (RTT) II” for the Session 2018-19 will start from
14th January 2019 to 15th January 2019. Students are required to select the topic
themselves, fill the attached consent form and submit it to their respective class
teachers at the latest by 9th January 2019.
* It is compulsory for all students to give their RTT topic as it will form the part
of their assessment.
INSTRUCTIONS
For the students:
The student will select the best topic of his/her own choice that he/she is most
comfortable with.
It is not compulsory for the students to select a subject specific topic. They can
choose any area for presentation. For example, a news report, movie critique, any
experiment or paper reading on social issues etc. The student can relate the topic to a
subject and take the guidance of the specific teacher related to the subject.
Create different activities to make the lesson more interesting and effective.
Besides a Power Point Presentation (PPT), other teaching aids such as charts,
pictures, models, flash cards, experiments; new teaching tools like projects, collage
making, mind map, block building, summarization, recall words (memory games),
puzzles, reports and videos related to the topic can be used in the RTT.
Students can also do ice breaking activities during their presentation.
For the parents:
Help your child in selecting a topic which the child knows well.
Guide the child in preparing the lesson to be taught in a very interactive manner.
16
Guide and help the child to make use of interesting teaching aids.
The feedback to every student will be provided by the teacher so as to ensure error
correction after the RTT is conducted.
The RTT will be assessed by the teachers and will be part of the Annual Report
Card.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA:
Peer group assessment will not be a part of RTT evaluations as it is often biased and
gives inaccurate results; however the general feedback from the students will be
taken.
The students will be assessed by the teacher on the Presentation of the topic,
Confidence, Interaction, Power Point Presentation, Teaching Aids, Topic
Knowledge and Speaking Skills on a Scale of 1-10.
The teacher will then plot the assessment values to generate the graph which will be
reflected as RTT Assessment in the Annual Report Card.
REVISION THROUGH TEACHING (RTT) SCHEDULE
The RTT Session II will start from 14th January 2019, kindly check the schedule
and prepare your child accordingly.
