CCC-1 YMPK Crack Analysis Report

The fishbone diagram summarizes potential causes of a crack in a CCC-1 YMPK part. The most supported reason is that the fixed side cooling water was turned off, which increased the mold temperature and caused expansion of the cavity surface when molten metal was introduced, inducing extra pressure that resulted in a crack developing. Other potential factors included improper gate breaking, handling issues, thermocouple issues, lock force errors, and tool wear from high operating temperatures or machining.

By analysing the crack propagation pattern the most supporting reason is "fixed side cooling water off " which
increases the mold temperature resulting in slight expansion in cavity when molten matel runs through the
surface. This induce extra pressure and crack is developed.
