Introduction to Political Analysis and Research
(IPAR)
Notes:
Key Points of Being a Good Political Analyst:
- No biases/personal reactions to the issue involved.
- It is best if you’re an outsider to the topic that will be analyzed so you can look at it from
any perspective without biases.
Basis of any Political Analysts:
1.) Check on the law on the matter.
2.) Check the practice.
Word Bank:
In house - existing, originating, or carried on within a group or organization or its facilities:
not outside.
In possession VS in position (From Duterte’s previous SONA’s misinterpretation of
pronunciation)
In possession - is something that belongs to you. It is all about control.
In position - if someone or something is in position, they are in their correct or usual place
or arrangement.
Tips:
I think – advisable to use rather than I feel if you were to recite in our major subject.
I feel – not advisable to use in the beginning of your sentence especially in our major.
I believe – other people cannot and will not contradict you because it is your personal belief
(e.g. I believe in God…)
