Originally, the R2Sonic MultiBeam EchoSounder (MBES) Sonic 2020 was designed for shallow water
surveys in harbors, rivers and near shore applications and therefore had been tested in areas with
maximum water depth of 100m. However, in August 2018, the R2Sonic team performed a survey in the
Bay of Tokyo, Japan, with a Sonic 2020 and obtained acceptable soundings at 200m mean depth below
proof of performance in a real-world environment, we updated the sounding depth
ation sheet of the Sonic 2020 to 200m to reflect the above-mentioned results
