Difference between model and framework

A framework indicates the perspective you are using to approach educational research. For example,
your investigative framework might suggest whether a quantitative or a qualitative approach is best for
addressing your research question.

A model, though, is developed within a framework. Your model is a descriptive tool that might, for
example, help you impose some order on how variables are potentially interrelated so you can begin to
formulate questions aligned with your chosen framework. Theories are different. They can emerge
from models but they are prescriptive, not merely descriptive; therefore, they can be tested.
