Suba Elementary School Nutrition Month 2019

Suba Elementary School in Ilocos Norte, Philippines held various activities to celebrate Nutrition Month in July 2019 with the theme "Kumain ng wasto at maging active. Push natin 'to!". Activities included a nutrition talk by the school head, a vegetable garden contest between teachers and students, and a nutri-jingle and essay writing contest between grade levels. Winners were announced for each contest at the culminating event, where students also participated in Zumba dancing to promote an active lifestyle. The goal was to educate students and the community on the importance of a healthy diet and exercise for overall well-being.

NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION 2019


NARRATIVE REPORT

July is set to celebrate Nutrition month in our country. It is a month to


inculcate to the learners as well as the community to understand the essence of
living a healthy lifestyle and know the importance of eating nutritious foods to protect
ourselves from any diseases or get rid of health-related problems. Living a healthy
style will lead to better life, teaching us to believe on the importance of being
conscious of the foods we are taking in. In connection to this celebration, Suba
Elementary School took the movement of a healthy life through different activities in
accordance with this year’s Nutrition Month Celebration theme, “Kumain ng wasto at
maging active. Push natin ‘to!”

July 31 was set by the school as the culminating program of the said school.
During the days before the culminating program, the school head, Mrs. Teresita
Baby P. Cacayorin gave a talk to the pupils about what should they look forward for
to this celebration. As a launching of the program, Mrs. Cacayorin challenge the
teachers to out up their own Gulayan or vegetable garden, which will be the part of
the program. Lot of activities was presented; Nutri-jingle and essay writing contest.

On the day of the culmination, everybody were excited to showcase their


practiced pieces for the Nutri-jingle and essay-writing contest. Every grade level has
put up their own vegetable gardens. At exactly 3:00 in the afternoon, the activity
started. The program was filled with songs and dances proclaiming the essence of
being active in all of the activities, only if pupils and community will have a healthy
lifestyle. After the Nutri-jingle and essay-writing contest, Mrs. Cacayorin together with
the HPTA presidents, judged the vegetable garden of every grade level.

The winners for Nutri-jingle for intermediate level; Grade 5-1st place, Grade 6-
2nd place and Grade 4-3rd place; for primary level; Grade 1-1st place, Grade 3-2nd
place, Grade 2-3rd place and Kindergarten-4th place. The winners for Gulayan ng
Bawat Baitang; Grade 3-1st place, Grade 2-2nd place and Grade 1-3rd place. Remalie
Ma. Angelique P. Pedro won as champion in the essay-writing contest. The
contested activities were judged by the HPTA presidents of every grade level.

At the end of the program, everybody was invited to join the Zumba sa Suba
as a part of the weekly routine of the said school.
