(Experiment class)
School : SMP NEGERI 1 PEMATANGSIANTAR
Subject : English
Class/Semester : VII-4/Ganjil
Time Allocation : 2 x 40 Minutes
Topic : Recount Text

A. CORE COMPETENCE

CC 1: Respecting and appreciating the teaching of their religions.

CC 2: Respecting and appreciating behavior of honest, discipline, responsible,


caring (tolerance, mutual assistance), mannered, confident, in social
interaction and natural environment effectively within the reach of the
association and its existence.

CC 3: Understanding and applying knowledge (factual, conceptual and


procedural) by curiosity about science, technology, art, cultural phenomena
and real events.

CC 4: Processing, presenting, and associating in concrete domain (using,


elaborating, designing, modifying, and creating) and abstract domain
(writing, reading, counting, drawing, and composing) in accordance with
learning materials.

B. BASIC COMPETENCE
3.6 Applying a social function, the structure of the text, and text linguistic elements
of oral and written transactional interactions involving the act of giving and
asking for information related to the presence of people, objects, animals,
according to the context of use. (Note the linguistic element there is / are).
4.6 Develop transactional texts oral and written interaction is very short and simple
that involves the act of giving and asking for information related to the
presence of people, objects, animals, taking into account the social function,
the structure of the text, and correct linguistic elements and in context.

C. INDICATOR
3.6.1 Identify social function, the structure of the text as well as elements in the
recount text
4.6.1 Create a simple text about people’s experience.

D. LEARNING MATERIAL
 Social function
Students are able to retell events or experiences in the past
 Structure text
Structure text of recount text are:
1. Orientation : introducing the participants, place and time
2. Events : describing series of event that happened in the past
3. Reorientation: it is optional. Starting personal comment of the writer to the
story
 Language Feature of Recount
1. Introducing personal participant: i, my group, etc.
2. Using chronological connection : then, first, after that, etc.
3. Using linking verbs : was, were, saw, heard, etc.
4. Using action verb : look, go, change, etc.
5. Using simple past tense.

E. METHOD/ TECHNIQUE
Method : Cooperative Learning
Technique : Using Games

participant as the runner and
the other is writer
 The runners run out and
memorise a word.
 Every group which have
finished they can check their
words are spelled correctly
and the do the gapfill task.

Commnicating
 One of students read the right
sequence and translate the
text to indonesia.
 4 Students will repeat again
or make summarize of the
lesson

I. EVALUATION
Very Tired Day
Last Tuesday 1...... a busy day fro me. I 2.....my time to do a lot of activities from
my junior high scholl to my home. I 3...... no time to take a rest.
First, at the morning, i 4.......jogging. After that i went to school to study until 3.00
pm, from my school, i went to sanggarian sport hall to practice badminton until
8.00 pm. I 5...... hard because that i felt very tired. After that, i went home. But
when i would sleep, i 6.........there was some homeworks that i had to do. I 7......my
homeworks until 11.40 pm. And finally i could take a rest in my bed.
Those activities 8.....my day busy and i 9.......very tired.

A Beautiful day at Jogja

Last week, my friends and i went to Jogja. We 10.......many places. First, we visited
Parangtritis beach. The sun 11.......brightly and the scenary was very beautiful there. We
felt the wind blew across to us. We also 12......a lot of people in that beach. There
13......many birds flew in the sky. Also, there were many sellers who 14..... many kinds of
souvenirs. Second, we visited Gembira Loka Zoo. We saw many kinds of animals there
such as monkeys, tigers, crocodiles, snakes, etc. We 15......around in the Zoo, and also
16........pictures of those animals. As soon as we 17..........our lunch, we 18.......to go home.
For me, that was a beautiful day. We really 19...... it, and i hope i 20.....visit Jogja again.
