A. Rationale:
Leadership is an integral part of education. Its significance traverses every part of the
national development that it is necessary to develop leadership values and skill to our learners.
The Department of Education (DepEd) acknowledges the important role that leadership plays
in the Philippine educational system. As such, the Supreme Pupil Government for elementary
level has been establish, which is a miniature in itself of the Philippine government. It is here
the future leaders are trained and democracy is exercised. However, one main problem being
encountered by elected officers is the lack of experience being in such position and as such; it
results to lack of confidence by SPG Officers leading to inefficient and ineffective leadership
Moreover, the elected officers lack the communication skills and the knowledge in
parliamentary procedures which are all essential in running miniature government system for
students. Thus, there is a need to provide adequate training for the learners to better equip
them as student leaders that possess not only the trust invested upon them by the student, but
the knowledge and skills needed by a good and efficient leader. In line with this, Gonzales
Elementary School will be conducting a leadership training for SPG Officers and classroom
presidents, entitled “Uncovering the Leader in You,” with the end goal of empowering our
students as efficient and effective leaders of the student government, which, for a long term
goal, will enable them to become responsible and competent of the country in the future.
B. Objectives:
Student Leader should be able to:
1. Learn about proper role modelling as a student leader;
2. Build confidence and paves the way for the future inspirational leaders.
3. Sharpen interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Prepare them for future projects, decision-making, and etc.
5. Differentiate effective and efficient leaders.
6. Work as one.
7. Acquire and apply the roles and responsibilities of a good leader.

E. Expected Outputs:
At the end of this one-day leadership training, it is expected that each participant will
have developed their leadership skills. Specifically, each participant has learned about proper
role modelling as a student leader; built confidence and paves the way for the future
inspirational leaders; sharpens interpersonal and communication skills; prepare them for the
future projects, decision-making; work as one; acquire and apply the eoles and responsibilities
of a good leader.
