LTSpice: RLC Circuit Response Analysis

LTSpice is an electronic circuit simulator used to predict circuit behavior. This document describes experiments using LTSpice to simulate the natural and step responses of parallel RLC circuits. The experiments varied resistor values and observed the resulting type of response, settling times, and other characteristics. When the resistor was 200 ohms, the response was overdamped with a settling time of 120ms. When the resistor was 625 ohms, the response was overdamped with an overshoot of 26mA and a settling time between 0-100us. The experiments demonstrated how varying resistor values in an RLC circuit impacts the response based on calculated values like damping ratio.

LTSpice:
SPICE (Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis) is a general purpose electronic
circuit simulator used to predict circuit behavior. LTSPICE is a SPICE simulator with graphical
interface (schematic capture) and waveform viewer.
