a. Fr. Christopher- he was a Catholic priest, who is ruthlessly murdered by the
Federales.

because he refused to renounce his Catholic faith.

2. Who among the above characters do you think can be a good model of our Christian Faith?
Justify your answer. (Maximum of three sentences only) DELETE THIS LATER
I believe, the good model of our Christian Faith would be Jose or also known as Jose Luis
Sanchez del Rio. From the Movie it clearly shows that Jose fight what he believe though
he knows that he might died from his young age when he continued to believe in God
but, still he refuse to be one of the people of Federales. In his young age he is not afraid
to die with his faith, he even don't listen to his legal dad when his dad trying to convince
him to not believe in God whereas he preferred to die for Christ.
3. Who are the Cristeros?
The Cristeros are: Enrique Gorostieta Velarde, Jose Reyes Vega, Alberto B.
Gutierrez, Aristeo Pedroza, Andres Salazar, Carlos Carranza, Bouquet, Dionisio
Eduardo, Ochoa, Barraza Damaso, Domingo Anaya, Jesus Degollado, Guizar, Luis
Navarro Origel, Lauro Rocha, Lucas Cuevas, Matias Villa Michel, Miguel Marquez,
Anguiano, Manuel Michel and Victoriano Ramirez.
What is the meaning of Viva Cristo Rey? Why it became their battle cry?
Viva Cristo Rey mean Long Live Christ the King. It became their battle cry because the
government forces publicly hanged Cristeros on main thoroughfares throughout Mexico,
including in the Pacific states of Colima and Jalisco, where bodies would often remain
hanging for extended lengths of time nor having their bodies publicly hanged on
telegraph poles as a warning to others and show churches being set on fire, Catholic
priests murdered and countless faithful peasants killed.
Is the action of the Cristeros to rebel against the government justifiable in order to defend their
faith? (3 sentences only) DELETE THIS LATER
Yes, the action of the Cristeros to rebel against the government is justifiable because the
doings and the rules of the government is very unpleasing and it's time to give them
revenge. Federales even killed and murdered the innocent person who are the Catholic
priests, in which it is very unacceptable doing. Federales use their power to violent
people in a wrong doing that will give an idea to the Cristeros to fight them.
4. Is Fr. Vega right in joining the Cristeros to defend Religious Freedom? (explain in 3-5
sentences ) DELETE THIS LATER
Fr. Vega is right in joining the Cristeros to defend Religious Freedom because he's
presence is important during the Cristero War and his plans for the battles are great. He
join the Cristeros not just for himself but also for his younger brother who was killed by
the Federales. And also he decided to join because he felt that his fighting for Christ
himself.
5. If this situation happens in our country? Would you do the same, to die for your faith like the
13-year-old boy Jose? (explain your answer in 3-5 sentences) DELETE THIS LATER
If the situation happens as what happened during the time of Jose's era I would constantly
do the same. I believe from what Jesus compose to us as he said that " Don't be afraid,
for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and
help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." We are all created by God
and we should not hesitate to give back our life to God because in the first he is the one
who created us. He give us life to send us here to discover his creatures, to know his life
and to discover who he really is and we are not living in this world permanently we are
all going to die. We are God's made and we should die carrying our beloved God's
wisdom.
