Thirdly, I’ll never forget to thank Mr. Chairman who has given me the opportunity to deliver a speech in
front you all brothers and sisters that I love.
Standing in front of you all, I am Bayu Seno Harimurti Would like to present my speech under the title
the important of the arts of tolerance
Brothers and sisters the generation of change
If we talk about tolerance, we have to know what is exactly the meaning of it. Tolerance is a willingness
to accept beliefs and behavior that are different from our own which we might not agree or we might
not approve. is it important? Absoulutely yes. We need tolerance in our life in order to live peacefully.
All Brothers and sisters that I love, as we know that we live in beautiful country named
Indonesia. Indonesia has a diversity of cultures and religions to be proud of. This makes
Indonesia a pluralistic country. We all have our unique characteristics and personalities that make
us different from each other. Those characteristics, qualities and attributes – which are the bases for
the betterment of society. living in social life, it is undeniable that there will be friction that can
occur between groups of people, whether related to religion or race.
Therefore in order to maintain unity and unity in the community, mutual respect and respect is
needed, so there is no friction that can lead to conflict.
we need tolerance and high mutual respect. Tolerance creates a society in which people can feel
valued and respected, and in which there is room for every person, each with their own ideas,
thoughts and dreams. This is why we believe tolerance is important: because it is an essential aspect
of a healthy, livable society. “Love for all, hatred for none”
dear all brothers and sisters the generation of love, could you imagine if we live without tolerance?
Imagine if we hate each other because we are different? Once people get hurt, they hurt others then
hating becomes a culture. It becomes an endless hating cycle to live in. hate is a sign of failure.
Failure to forgive, failure to find happiness. The truth is hate has caused a lot of problems in the
world but has not solved yet.
All brothers and sisters that I love, sometimes we have to see people as crayons. They may not be
your favorite color but you need them to complete the picture. We should not let the hateful win the
battle. More importantly we should not fight fire with fire. Let’s fight with water, fight hatred with
love, let’s fight intolerance with knowledge, and art. Do we really wanna see people hate each
others? Enough is enough. Don’t we all bleed the same color ? we walk under the same sun? eat
same food? And drink same water? Just spread love, tolerance, and positivity.
The last I would like to remind you that tolerance is the most powerful influential things to solve the
cultural and social problem. We have to believe in our country that we can live together with peace
and harmony. Our differences should not give us so much hating but is should give us so much love
of strength and tolerance.
living in social life, it is undeniable that there will be friction that can occur between groups of
people, whether related to religion or race. In order to maintain unity and unity in the
community, mutual respect and respect is needed, so there is no friction that can lead to conflict.
Ladies and gentlemen, what is tolerance? Tolerance is a willingness to accept beliefs and
behavior that are different from our own with which we might not agree or of which we might not
approve. Is it important? Yes, it is. We need tolerance in our life in order to live peacefully. It has
always been known that this earth is inhabited by people with various races, ethnics, and
religions. And it has always been a fact that we live in the society whose members have
different backgrounds from each other. These differences often lead to friction among the
people in the community. In order to maintain the harmony and unity in the community, mutual
respect from the members of the community is needed. To establish this mutual respect, they
have to be tolerant toward each other. We have to be too, because we are also the members of
the community.
Ladies and gentlemen, imagine if we live without tolerance. There would be wars and conflicts
everywhere. It would be impossible for us to live together in harmony with those who are
different from us. The fear of being excluded, mocked, and ridiculed for being who they are and
based on what they believe. Just because they are not the same like the rest of the society, they
are being discriminated. Yet they cannot live peacefully like us. Why? It is because there are still
intolerant people live among us who will always play the majority card to justify their evil doings.
It is sad, but all we can do is to show love and respect to the minority by giving them tolerance.
Tolerance is something we need in life, but we must use it wisely. Otherwise, it could ruin the
essence of tolerance itself and could bring bad outcome to us and others.
We have to realize that our country has too many differences because is inhabited
by many different ethnic group. All differences in Indonesia have considered and
accepted as mercy of god. So,there is no doubt that we are obligated to keep the
available differences.
That’s why as good Indonesian citizens,we are obligated to do important things as
follows:
We have to keep tolerant in this country. We aware that our country has some
religious. All religion in Indonesia are protected and recognized by the goverment
of Indonesia.
We must keep polite behavior in the circle of our society. According to the second
moral principal of pancasila, all people of Indonesia have to love and respect
other people without discriminating religion, ethnic groups, social status and
other differences.
All of Indonesian are obligated to keep harmonious, togetherness, solidarity, unity
and integrity for the wholeness of the unitary state of the republic of Indonesia.
Besides, we must avoid doing of sparatism.
Society is formed by groups of individuals who possess different elements that make them human.
We all have our unique characteristics and personalities that make us different from each other.
Those characteristics, qualities and attributes – which are the bases for the betterment of society – are
in fact most important and of great significance, whether it be loyalty, sincerity, love or gratitude.
Tolerance is one of those qualities that forms the bedrock of society. The world is a much smaller
place today. Globalisation has blurred borders throughout the world. More people from different
nations, cultures, religions and lifestyles are working together and living in the same neighborhoods
than ever before.
In this globalisation, where people of different backgrounds, cultures and faith live together, and
where the world has become more multicultural and diverse than ever before, establishing tolerance
and harmony has become more crucial and important; fostering mutual love and affection has
become vital
Tolerance creates a society in which people can feel valued and respected, and in which there is room
for every person, each with their own ideas, thoughts and dreams. This is why we believe tolerance is
important: because it is an essential aspect of a healthy, livable society. “Love for all, hatred for
none”
