ALL ABOUT VISSION AND MISSION OF BUDIWIJAYA
1. There are three strategic elements to make an organization or a
business successful. The first strategy element is leadership. To
make the business successful, there must be a good leader. A good
leader is the leader who has a strong vission and has an ability to
inspire the team. The role of the leader are mantainning the focus on
vission, motivating the team, and having power to take firm action
towards the thing that can distract the mission. The next strategy
element is teamwork. To gain a big success, people never work
alone. They need other people to work in other scenes to accomplish
the mission. The last strategic element is making the mission clear
and strong. To only gain money is not strong enough to become a
mission. There must be a support to the reason why the bussiness
established. It’s good to start with spiritual mission first to establish
the business. The spriritual mission is a mission which is purposed
to many people interests. It’s abstract but the impact can be felt by
many people.
2. Mission is the most important element because it is the pilllar to
establish a business or an organization. Because of the mission, the
success of a business can be determined. We can see the bussiness
or organization as the building. To make the building strong, it needs
strong buttresses to shore it up. As stronger the buttresses as longer
the building stand. As stronger the mission, as longer and more
succeed in the business. In a real life, we can find an example. On
1960, when America colonized Vietnam, they were actually helped
by South Vietnam. They fought against North Vietnam. The American
armies wondered why South Vietnam who helped them, didn’t fight
as strong as North Vietnam, meanwhile there were all Vietnamese.
It simply because South Vietnam didn’t have strong mission. In other
case, North Vietnam had stong mission which wanted to chase away
America from their land. From this, we know that if we want to see
whether the business is strong or succeed, we have to see the
mission of the business first.
3. Budiwijaya’s mission is EDUCATION FOR ALL. This mission has the
first implication which performs an educational system “In a Good
Quality” with “Affordable Price”. Good quality means Budiwijaya has
the above average in education standard, while it must be relatively
low price. Relatively low price means the price is affordable for many
people especially poor people. It’s a challenge for Budiwijaya to
match these two things. So Budiwijaya has a strategy which is Big
Class, means that each class has at least 18 and maximumly 30
students. Budiwijaya has regulation which are named as IC
(Inadequate Class) that contains less than 18 students and OC (
Over Class) that contains more than 30 students. So that each
branch managers will arrange at least 18 students and not more than
30 students for each classes. By having at least 18 students in one
class, Budiwijaya can pay the good and qualified teachers well.
4. The other implication of applying the mission EDUCATION FOR ALL,
Budiwijaya has a special method of teaching which is different from
other courses. For instance, because Budiwijaya has more than 18
students in the class, the teacher must have a good class control.
Class control is good when the students in the class pay attentions
to the teacher who is explaining the materials and also not become
noisy or talk about unimportant thing when the teacher is giving
exercises. Teacher must speak loudly so that all students in the class
can hear his/her voice. By having a good class control, the target of
learning will be achieved. Budiwijaya doesn’t recommend few
students in each classes, for example five or ten students. If the class
consists of five or ten students, means the students must pay higher
because the teacher must be paid well. Yes it is fair, but it is against
the mission. There must be at least 18 students in the class so that
the good and qualified teacher will be paid well too.
5. The last implication of Budiwijaya’s mission is Learning Center. It
means Budiwijaya must be a place for employees to learn something.
All the employees have to think that they are not only working at
Budiwijiaya but also they have to think that they are learning
something from Budiwijaya. So basically, the teachers are not
teaching in Budiwijaya but they are learning to teach in Budiwijaya.
Also for administration staffs, they are learning something related to
administration. Day by day of learning, the teachers and the
administration staffs will become better. In order to concern about
Learning Center, Budiwijaya has a prominent criteria to recruit the
employee which is teachable. Teachable means that he/she is ready
for learning. It’s better for people to say “ I don’t know” rather than “I
know”. The power of “I don’t know” is to result in good impact which
the knowledge will become transferable for us. Because of that it will
make us learning everyday and become a better learner.
6. I have a strong mission in my life which is Learn Today Lead
Tomorrow. My mission also has implication as Budiwijaya. Because
of my mission, I have to be ready for every challenges in my life. The
implication is that I must perform this motto in my life which is “ Do
the Best, Prepare for the Worst”. To achieve a good result, we need
to prepare well. If we don’t prepare well, the result will not be
satisfying. Good preparation is very needed to do something best.
Beside that, we must be ready for something which is not expected.
The unexpected thing can be dennied only if we have good plan and
anticipation. Anticipation is very important as the back up for running
a mission in our life. This motto, Do the Best, Prepare for the Worst,
has a big power for me to always become ready for every
challenges. I absolutely agree with Budiwijaya’s mission. First of all,
it inspires many people that education is not only gained from school
but also everywhere. And then, Budiwijaya has sent the moral value
that learning is an only way to make people become better. This
value is very suitable with my mission which is to always learn today
to become a leader tomorrow.
