Split Capture Cycle: During Scan Insertion - During Simulation

The document describes a split capture cycle operation where two flops operate at different polarities. A lock-up latch is placed between the flops during scan insertion to stitch them together. During simulation, if no lock-up latch is present, a split cycle option must be enabled to avoid mismatches since the flops capture at different times.

Split Capture Cycle

The above figure has two fops and both the flops are operating at different polarity.

1) During scan Insertion – Toll will place a Lock-up Latch in between both the flops and will do the
stitching.
2) During Simulation – if Lockup latch is not placed in between both the flops we have to enable to
Split Cycle option in order to avoid mismatches during simulations.
