Digital Learning's Impact on Indian Education

This proposal examines how digital learning is changing education among Indian college students. A survey will be conducted with 50 students to understand their experiences with digital learning platforms and how their usage has impacted traditional education methods. Digital learning provides benefits like instant access to information, efficient assessment, use of artificial intelligence, and e-study materials. It is largely replacing traditional education and the Indian e-learning market is growing significantly. The study aims to understand how rapidly classrooms are adopting new digital teaching techniques and the impact on students' learning.

“Title: How is Digital Learning Changing the face of Education among Indian college
students?”

“Introduction: This study aims at identifying the role of digital learning in changing the face
of Indian Education. This majorly focuses on the role of technology in changing the Indian
education scenario. With the advancement of technology over the past few years, we have
seen a major change in the education sector. The way children are taught and the way the
children are interacting with the teachers has changed a lot with the advancement of
technology. Distance education has totally changed now; online classes bridge the gap
between distance education and regular classes. Lots of mobile applications, blogs and
websites are helping a lot to provide free education to everyone and to every corner of the
earth. Why digital learning is gaining the push in the education market? Here’s how – “

1. Instant access to lot of information

2. Efficient assessment
3. Use of artificial intelligence
4. E- Study Materials.
5. Multimedia in Education
6. Augmented Reality in Education

“There are several online platforms like Byju’s, Moocs, NPTEL, Unacademy, Udemy and
many others providing services for different types of consumers ranging from academics for
school and college students, competitive exams and various other key learning certifications.”
“Context of the problem – With advanced learning practices and digitization consumers
have changed their buying behaviour overtime. Same is in the context of digital learning. It is
replacing traditional educational methods more and more each day. With how rapidly
classrooms are changing, it is best to forget methods you may remember from when you were
in school and start thinking about newer teaching and learning techniques based on digital
learning tools and technologies. The inclusion of digital learning in the classrooms can vary
from simply using tablets instead of paper to using elaborate software programs and
equipment as opposed to the simple pen.”
Type of research method: Survey research
Research Methodology: The research study will be conducted by forming a google form
questionnaire with sample size of approx. 50. Following are the sources of data-

1. Primary data – Survey questionnaire.

2. Secondary data – Magazines, journals, research paper and internet.

“Motivation for the study - India's high tech learning market is the largest after the US. the
overall education industry in the country, which is estimated to reach $144 billion by 2020
from $ 97.8 billion now.”

“Convergence of online and offline is the new mantra which is changing the education map
of the country. And, it is surely catching up not only in colleges or tuition centres for
engineering and medical exams, but is spreading wings to school education with solutions for
the kindergaden kids to even senior classes.”

“KPMG estimates, size of India’s e-learning market was $247 million, comprising 1.6
million users in 2016 and expects it to grow six times to 9.6 million users by 2021.”

“India’s e-learning market is the second-largest after the US. However, it is still miniscule
compared to the fact that the overall education industry in India is estimated to reach $ 144
billion by 2020 from $ 97.8 billion.”
