Chapter III: Methodology

In achieving the study of banana peels as alternative floor wax, researcher gathered
facts on computer sources. It is said that there must be a perfect specific amount of
ingredients put in the process of the observation. A series of trial and error was made
wherein the exact amount of substance put must be observed properly. In the setup, the
researcher put different amount of banana peel in every setup so that it can be observe
on which amount of specific component should fit the best qualities of making the
banana floor wax. In conducting the research, researcher aims to provide a perfect
amount of banana peel ingredient put in the observation.

Material
Materials and equipment needs for the observation is as follow:
Paraffin wax or candle wax (100ml), kerosene (50ml), banana peel, large mixing pot,
stockings and a small container.

Procedure
The preparation of the investigation is as follow:
Prepare the materials and equipment needed for the observation. Chop the banana peel
into small size.
Melt the candle wax over a low heat in a large mixing pot, then put the kerosene and stir
thoroughly without removing the heat. After the candle wax and kerosene are mix
together, put the chop banana peel into the large mixing pot. Mix the components all
together in about 3 minutes. After it is mix, let it boil in about 15 minutes. Next is put the
liquid substance into a small container. Wait until the floor wax is cooled.

Experimental Design
The picture above shows the input, process, and output of this investigatory project
where in the input are the ingredients needed such as Paraffin wax or candle wax,
kerosene, banana peel. The process represents the steps on how to make the product
such as melting, mixing, and boiling. The output is Banana floor wax as alternative for
commercial floor wax.

Statistical Treatment
The outcome result of floor may come differently depending in the amount banana peel
put in the process. The researcher used a rough floor tile to test its outcome.
The possible out come may vary of smoothness/friction and shiness.
