Ir-192 vs. Co-60: HVL Comparisons

The document contains data from two experiments measuring half value layer (HVL) thicknesses for different radiation sources and materials. In the first experiment, HVL thicknesses were measured for an Ir-192 source and mild steel at thicknesses from 2 to 12 mm. In the second experiment, HVL thicknesses were measured for a 100kV source and mild steel at the same thicknesses. The data shows that the Ir-192 source required greater thicknesses of mild steel to achieve the same HVL compared to the 100kV source.
