Hepatitis B Test Result

Mrs. Suresh Devi, a 53-year-old female, was tested for Hepatitis B surface antigen using a chemiluminescent microparticles immunoassay. The test result was nonreactive, indicating a negative result for Hepatitis B infection. A nonreactive result means the sample's signal-to-cutoff ratio was below 1.00. While a negative result makes Hepatitis B infection unlikely, it does not rule out possible prior exposure to or infection with the Hepatitis B virus.

Result : Nonreactive

Sample Type: Serum

Test Technique: Chemiluminescent microparticles immunoassay (CMIA)
Interpretation:
 > = 1.00 S/CO :  Reactive
 <  1.00  S/CO  :  Nonreactive
Biological Reference Value:- Nonreactive
Comment:
HBsAg Qualitative II assay is a chemiluminescent microparticles immunoassay (CMIA) for the qualitative determination of
hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in human serum and plasma.  Samples nonreactive by ARCHITECT HBsAg Qualitative
II assay are considered negative for and need not be tested further.  A sample which is found to be repeatedly reactive
should be confirmed by a neutralizing confirmatory test utilizing human anti-HBs. A negative result does not exclude the
possibility of exposure to or infection with Hepatitis B. For the diagnosis of acute or chronic hepatitis, HBsAg reactivity
should be correlated with patient history and the presence of other hepatitis B serological markers.Sensitivity of this test is
>100.0 % and Specificity is 99.93%.
