Weekly Learning Plan for Students

Daily Tasks  Spellbound: Week 29 Learn spellings and complete all exercises

(Do this  Go with the Flow: Complete a page daily


every day)  Read at home: Read a page a day starting at pg 98
 Léigh sa Bhaile - continue to read a page a day from pg 98
 Tables: Each day revise your tables from 1-12
Monday English:
 Starlight: Unit 15 Watch the Oral Language video on the blog.
 Starlight: Unit 15A, Read “Read This!” Pg 170,171“
 Look up the meaning of new words: “humour, glimmer, teases,
realistic”
 Make sentences with these new words
 Complete questions A pg 173 (You can answer these orally)

Maths:
 Revise multiplication and division tables 1-12 Learn these off by
heart it will really help you.
 Time- Do you know how to tell the time in the Analogue form?
 Complete pg 35 in Maths Shadow book. Write answers in the
analogue form (5 past 10, 20 to seven). We will only focus on the
analogue way for now.

Gaeilge:
 Revise Teama “An Aimsir”, Listen to the Poster (scéal) section
and ceisteanna. (I recorded this for you. It’s on the blog, or you
can use the online digital resources on folensonline to listen to it.
 Phrases to learn
Cén sórt aimsire atá ann inniu? What is the weather like today?
Tá an aimsir go breá / go dona inniu. The weather is lovely/bad today.
Tá sé ag cur báistí / sneachta. It is raining/snowing.
Tá an ghrian ag taitneamh / ag spalpadh anuas. The sun is
shining/beating down
Tá an ghaoth ag séideadh (go láidir). The wind is blowing

Tuesday English:
 Starlight: Unit 15A, Re-read “Read This!” Pg 170,171“
 Look up the meaning of new words: “recommend, invented,
imaginary, clambering”
 Complete questions B pg 173 (You can answer these orally)

Maths:
 Revise multiplication and division tables 1-12
 Revise back over time. Know how to say it in the analogue form,
Check the time throughout the day and remember to say it in the
analogue form.
 Pattern. Complete pg 59 in the Shadow book and Q1 pg 60.

Gaeilge:
 Revise Teama “An Aimsir”, Léigh scéal “Cén sort aimsire atá an
inniu”.
 Try to complete the ceisteanna
Phrases:
Lá grianmhar / scamallach atá ann It’s a sunny/cloudy day
Conas a bhí / bhíonn an aimsir? How was/is the weather

Science: Life cycle of the Dandelion


Look at the image of the life cycle of the Dandelion.
Read about the history associated with the flower.
Can you spot some Dandelions in areas where you live?
Find out why the Dandelion is an important flower! Look at the
information on the blog to help you.
Maybe you could grow your own! (optional)

Wednesday English:
 Look up the meaning of new words: “swarmed, information, old-
fashioned”
 Answer questions C pg 173 (Do this orally, you don’t need to write
it out)
 Complete section D pg 174 in copy.

Maths:
 Revise multiplication and division tables up to 12
 Do you know how to read the time in the digital form?
 Compete Q1 + 2 pg 36 in the maths shadow
 Pattern. Complete Q 2+ 3 pg 60 in the Shadow book.
Gaeilge:
 Revise Teama “An Aimsir”, Listen to Comhrá (See recording on
blog)
 Try to create your own Aimsir report at home. Look at Culra TG4
for ideas.

History: The History of Transport


Investigate how travel has changed over the years.
Compare now to years age. List ways people travel to work nowadays
compared to years ago.
Read the history page included in your books pack to help you out. (If
you don’t get your pack till later in the week leave this until Thursday)

Make up a sentence with each of the verbs in the past tense

 Spelling page: Ask someone at home to ask you the spellings. You
can put them into sentences

Art: What do you think the future of cars/or any mode of travel will
look like? Will cars be able to fly? Will it be automatic? Will it drive
itself?
Design a future mode of transport (car, bike, scooter, skateboard)
