Periodic Maintenance, Routine/Recurrent Maintenance, Spot
Improvement, Bridge Major Repair and Preventive Maintenance Works
along Trunk & Regional Roads in Songwe Region
Date: 10th July, 2019
1. This Invitation for Tenders follows the General Procurement Notice for these
Projects which appeared on TANROADS Website and PPRA Tender Portal on 10th
June, 2019.
2. The Government of Tanzania has set aside funds for the operation of the Tanzania
National Roads Agency – Songwe Region during the financial year 2019/20. It is
intended that part of the proceeds of the fund will be used to cover eligible payment
under the contract for Periodic Maintenance, Routine/Recurrent Maintenance, Spot
Improvement, Bridge Major Repair and Preventive Maintenance Works along
Trunk & Regional Roads.
3. The TANROADS Regional Manager – Songwe Region, now invites sealed tenders
from eligible National Civil Engineering Contractors registered with the Contractors
Registration Board (CRB) in Classes specified in a Table given below;

5. Tendering will be conducted through the National Competitive Tendering
procedures specified in the Public Procurement Regulations, 2013 – Government
Notice No. 446 and are open to National Tenderers only.
6. Interested eligible Tenderers may obtain further information from and inspect the
Tender Documents at the office of the Secretary to the Delegated TANROADS
Regional Tender Board, Songwe Region, P.O. Box 86, Mbozi, Central Vwawa area
along Vwawa – Hasamba road. Tel: +255 25 258 0147, Fax: +255 25 258 0148 and E-
mail: [email protected] from 8:00 to 16:30 hours on Mondays to Fridays
inclusive except on public holidays.
7. A complete set of Tender Document(s) in English Language and additional sets may
be purchased by interested Tenderers on the submission of a written application to
the address given under paragraph 6 above and upon payment through a Control
Number obtained from Regional Manager’s Office of a non-refundable fee as
specified in table given above. Payment should either be by Cash or Banker’s
Cheque, payable to TANROADS Regional Manager, Songwe Region.
8. All Tenders must be accompanied by a Tender Securing Declaration in the format
provided in the Tender Documents.
9. All Tenders in One original plus One copy of the Original Tender, properly filled
in, and enclosed in plain envelopes must be delivered to the address The Secretary,
Delegated TANROADS Regional Tender Board, P.O. Box 86, Mbozi, Central
Vwawa area along Vwawa – Hasamba road at or before 10:00 hours on Wednesday
24th July, 2019 for Tender No AE/001/2019-20/SNG/W/01-13&15-17 and 10:00 hours
on Thursday 25th July, 2019 for Tender No AE/001/2019-20/SNG/W/18-23. Tenders
will be opened promptly thereafter in public and in the presence of Tenderer
representatives who choose to attend in the opening at the TANROADS Regional
Manager’s Office, Songwe Region.
10. Site Visit and Pre-tender Meeting will be held as follows:

All Tenderers shall assemble at the TANROADS Regional Manager’s Office –
Songwe at 08:30 am on the date of the visit. The Pre-tender meeting will take place
immediately after the site visits. Note that, Tenderers shall have to arrange for their
own transport for the site visits.
11. Late tenders, portion of tenders, electronic tenders, tenders not received, tenders not
opened and not read out in public at the tender opening ceremony shall not be
accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstance.
