SAFE WORK METHOD STATEMENT

Slab Concreting

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Work Procedure is to provide a controlled system of operation within
project specifications and applicable codes/standards.

SCOPE

This Work Procedure shall cover the Process of Slab concreting Work and identify the
responsible personnel, sequence of operations and EHS Guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Project Manager/ Site Engineer to ensure that site supervisor / Foreman are familiar
with work instruction, quality control and safety requirements for the activity and
ensure that these requirements are put into practice.
 The Foreman would report to Site Engineer and the Site Engineer would report to the
Project Manager and he would report to the Regional Planning Manager and the
Regional Manager.
 The foreman and site engineer shall be responsible for all the works being carried out.
 Site Supervisor is responsible for the continuous supervision of the work.
 Safety Engineer is responsible to monitor the work and ensure the safety in the
proposed work.

TBT

 Material Shifting: Material will be shifted from material yard to working location.
Shuttering material and reinforcement material will be shifted manually.
 Scaffolding: Scaffolding SWMS has been submitted with reference number
“RBIPL/ITC/AMLF-08”. Scaffold shall be made as per approved design calculation.
The design drawing is enclosed with this document for the reference.
 Shuttering: Shuttering SWMS has been submitted with reference number
“RBIPL/ITC/AMLF-04”. Scaffold will be performed as per approved design
calculation. The design drawing is enclosed with this document for the reference.
 RCC: RCC SWMS has been submitted with reference number “RBIPL/ITC/AMLF-
06”.
 De shuttering: De Shuttering SWMS has been submitted with reference number
“RBIPL/ITC/AMLF-04”. All safety precautions will be followed as per the same.
 Housekeeping: Proper material stacking and housekeeping will be maintained. All
loose materials and debris will be cleared periodically from the site.
 Working at height: Proper platform, access, fall prevention and fall protection will be
provided for working at height. Material movement and men movement procedure
will be ensured with safety.
 Night work: Proper illumination will be provided for night work. Proper access and
area lighting also will be provided.

SAFETY ASPECTS
 All workers shall be inducted.
 All workers shall be trained in work at height safety.
 Work permit and TBT shall be maintained on daily basis.
 Material storage at height is only according to load bearing capacity of the scaffold.
 Area shall be clear from Obstructions.
 Proper access and platform shall be provided for work at height.
 Electrical connection shall be through ELCB and MCB.
 All equipment, connections and tools shall be inspected and color coded.
 Proper supervision and safety coverage shall be provided.
 Guard rail system and fall arresting system shall be followed.
 Full body harness with 100% fall protection required.
