MOXA NPORT 5150/5110 CONFIGURATION

You will need a crossover Ethernet cable and a PC/laptop to complete the configuration.

1. Apply power to the Moxa device.

2. Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the network jack of the Moxa device and the other end into
the network port of your PC or laptop.

3. Configure your network card as follows:

IP address: [Link]
Subnet Mask: [Link]
Leave the Gateway address blank

4. Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer and type the following into the address bar:

5. The Moxa web management display should load in the web browser’s window.

6. Click on “Operating Settings”-“Port 1” and enter the information shown in the below image if you
are sending data.

IMPORTANT: UDP port 3805 must be open from the Moxa sending device all the way to the
destination IP address of the PC running ThorPCX that will be receiving the data. If there are
firewalls between those two points, then you must open UDP port 3805 to allow data to pass
through that port.

7. Click the “Submit” button and then the “Save/Restart” button on the next screen.

8. Next click on the “Serial Settings”-“Port 1” and enter the below information for each unit.

9. Click the “Submit” button and then the “Save/Restart” button on the next screen.

10. Now click on the “Network Settings” link. Enter the network information that will allow the unit to
reside on your network. Click the “Submit” button and then the “Save/Restart” button on the
following screen.

IMPORTANT: The information shown on the image below is for demonstration purposes only. You
will need to enter the settings for YOUR NETWORK in the spaces below. Specifically, you must enter
YOUR MOXA IP address in the first line.
