Questions:

1. What must Local Government have so that it can be called such?

=Local government, authority to determine and execute measures within a restricted area inside
and smaller than a whole state, some degree of local government characteristizes every country
in the world, although the degree extremely significant. The variant, local self government, is
important for its emphasis upon the freedom of locality to decide and act.

2. What are the requisite of local government?


A. Income. It must be sufficient based on acceptable standards, to provide for all essential
government facilities and services and special functions commensurate the site of its
population, as expected of the LGu concerned.
B. Population, it is shall be determined as the total of inhabitants of the within the territorial
jurisdiction, of LGU concerned
C. Land Area , It must be contiguous unless it can comprises two or more island or is separated
by an LGU independent of other properly identified by meters and bound with technical
description and sufficient to provide for such basic services and facilities to meet the
requirements of the populace.

3. Described the two major concept of local government?

Most states and territories have atleast two tiers of local government: countries and municipalities,
In some states, countries are divided into townships. There are several different types of
jurisdictions at the municipal level, including the city, town, borough, and village.

4. What is the difference between a component city to that highly urbanized city?

= Independent Component cities are cities outside of provincial jurisdiction (although some are
allowed to participate in the election of provincial officials) that have not yet attained the “highly

Urbanized status, while component cities are those under a province’s jurisdiction.
