BILL KAMMEMER

I am a native of Pittsburgh, PA and currently reside in Moon

Township. I was blessed to have my faith instilled at a young
age due to the efforts of my mother. I was raised in the Missouri
Synod Lutheran Church, where I was baptized as an infant and
confirmed through Catechism as a teenager. However, as a
college student, my relationship with Christ became tertiary.
This burden on my faith was only temporary, and during my
spiritual growth as a young adult, my early Christian education
collided with God’s grace and I finally began to grasp the reality
of God’s pursuit of my heart and salvation through His efforts
alone. Since the time God turned my heart towards Him and
His will, I’ve been striving to fully grasp the gravity of and live
according to His truth daily.
I am a 2007 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College with degrees
in Economics and Rhetoric. Early in my career, I worked in both real estate project management
and banking. But after 6 years, God’s plan led me to join the Air Force Reserve. Presently, I am an
Air Force Reserve pilot and a pilot with Republic Airways. I am so blessed to not only have a
passion for my work, but also God’s constant reminder that my employment is an opportunity for
ministry to each and every coworker and customer.
I have been married to Sarah for 8 years. Sarah is a native of Houston, TX and we lived in Oklahoma
and Arkansas prior to settling in Pittsburgh. We are the parents of 3 amazing daughters, Amelia (6),
Helen (5), and Naomi (2). We’ve been attending Christ Church for more than 10 years and became
members in 2017. In those 10 years, we’ve participated in Christian Leadership Concepts, small
groups, MOPS, and F3. We both have a passion for service and regularly volunteer with CCGF Kid’s
Ministry, Rhema Christian School, and Choices Pregnancy Services. I would be honored to serve as
a member of Parish Council and continue with the vision God has set before the Church.

SARAH MANGES
My mom and grandma were foundational in my spiritual
upbringing and made prayer, Scripture memory, and family
devotions a daily habit for my three older brothers and me. I
submitted my life to Christ at an early age, but as a teenager and
college-aged young adult, I ignored the truth that the riches of
God’s kindness were intended to lead [me] to repentance (Romans
2:4), and instead I viewed God’s blessings as entitlements and
consistently chose to disregard His call on my life. My mom
often told me God will not be mocked (Gal 6:7), which I learned
quickly as God used a series of consequences to lead me back to
my knees where I surrendered to the reality that God is God, and
there is no other. (Is 43:10)

Sarah Manges (continued):
Being married to a man who shares a relentless pursuit for spiritual maturity has made all the
difference in my walk of obedience as an adult. My husband Doug and I met at Grove City College,
and for 16 years were members of a Presbyterian church in Kennedy Township where I was raised.
There we led the high school youth group, taught Children’s Church and Sunday School, directed
VBS, and participated in various other ministries.
My husband was introduced to CCGF when he attended the Brave Men Bible Study over 20 years
ago. He encouraged me to attend a women’s Bible study, but I was content with doing studies on my
own. Several years later, in 2006, I attended the Friday morning women’s Bible study, where I was
blown away by the number of women who were purposefully intentional about being authentic
followers of Christ, and I knew God was calling me into this community. A few months later we
moved our family to Christ Church in response to God’s obvious work among the family of
believers here.
As a member of CCGF, I have volunteered with Kid’s Ministry in AWANA, Children’s Church, and
SDC; in student ministry as a small group leader for both middle and high school; in women’s
ministry I was a table leader for the Friday morning women’s Bible study and facilitated a small
group of dynamic young adult women. I have served on the prayer rail ministry and presently serve
as a facilitator for Moms in Prayer, Prayer for Adult Children, and as part of the prayer council.
Also, like many people at CCGF, our family is very involved with what God is doing through the
ministry of Urban Impact, and I am a volunteer with the Education department there.
My husband and I have 6 children (plus a daughter-in-law, and a son-in-law-to-be): Our oldest son
Gabriel and his wife Maddi; our daughter Lydia and her fiancé, Blake Carpenter; our daughter
Abigail, and our sons Gideon, Elijah, and Malachi have all benefited from God’s faithfulness to the
family of CCGF. It is an honor to be considered to serve the family of Christ Church as a member
of Parish Council.

DAN THOMPSON
My name is Dan, but my friends, family and grandchildren call
me Flip. Both my wife Kelly and I were born and raised in
Pittsburgh. My younger siblings were Christians and had a great
influence on me though a Young Life ministry to middle school
kids. Through that ministry I attended a Billy Graham movie
called “Time to Run” and accepted Christ as my Savior at 12 years
old. Soon after I met my later to be wife, Kelly. Although I did-
n’t know it at the time, she wanted to marry me when she was in
the fifth grade. We started dating when she was in the ninth
grade and married more than six years later in 1983.
We are blessed to be the parents of three adult children Daniel
(Alicia), Matt (Katie), Mike (Megan) and five grandchildren
under 8 years old. As a family we have always been members
of a church where we have served in numerous capacities

including planting churches, establishing outreach/service ministries, and serving on various

church committees. I have been honored to previously serve as a deacon and elder.
My vocation is working as a Contract Administrator for a Government Contractor for a family
owned company in North Kansas City, MO. I help oversee 12 multimillion-dollar contracts. God has
been gracious to allow me to use the gifts of administration and analysis which He has provided for
use vocationally and within the church.
We first attended Christ Church of Grove Farm in 2015 and became members three years ago. At
Christ Church I have taught adult Sunday School and have been a member of the Men’s Ministry
Team since 2019. In 2020 I have had the pleasure of participating as a member of the Crisis
Intervention Team and Reopening Task Force.
We love Christ Church and are so glad that we can worship and serve here for this period in our
lives. I am both humbled and honored to be considered to serve on Parish Council. I look forward
to continuing to see God at work here!

ROBERT WAGNER
I was blessed being raised by parents of faith, who loved the Lord
and raised their children in the Roman Catholic tradition.
Looking back at my childhood and early adult life I recall always
having a love for God, though at the time not having a full
understanding of the Gospel. It wasn’t until the early 2000’s when
our family moved back to Pittsburgh and we visited CCGF for
Sunday worship that I heard the full Gospel truth as it was
delivered each Sunday by Rev. Dr. John Guest. The fact that I
didn’t need to keep a “ledger” measuring how good I was and to
hear for the first time and accept that Jesus paid the full price for
my sins and imputed His righteousness to me was freedom I had
not experienced until then.
My family have been members of CCGF since 2001. Both Judy
and I are active serving Urban Impact Foundation and I assist
coaching middle school outreach basketball as well as coach in the UIF baseball program. I have
led a CCGF men’s Bible study and I am currently active in a men’s Bible study that was born out of
a 2-year Christian Leadership Concepts (CLC) study and continues to meet weekly.
I graduated from Grove City College in 1980 and married my wife Judy in 1981. Thirty-nine years of
marriage have brought us four wonderful children: Connor, Jonathan, Shannon and Ryan, two
daughters-in-law, and the blessing of six beautiful grandchildren.
My prayer is that I may serve our CCGF faith community humbly, always discerning God’s will
collectively with my Parish Council brothers and sisters and sharing the Gospel of Christ in truth
and love to a lost world.
DAVE HARTMAN (2nd Term Reelection)
I grew up in Penn Hills PA. After graduation from Grove City
College with a BA in Business Administration, God led me on a
34-year journey away from Pittsburgh. I’ve always loved
Pittsburgh and had a strong desire to return, however, The Lord
needed to prepare me spiritually, personally and emotionally for
what he had in store before I could return.
I grew up Presbyterian and always had a faith, so I didn’t have a
particular conversion experience. Denny Pattyn was my high
school Young Life leader. He had a great influence on my life.
My journey away from Pittsburgh strengthened my faith and
created a passion to serve the least of these. I also want to spend
the remainder of my life using my God given abilities to make an
eternal difference for HIS kingdom.
Baseball has been an integral part of my life. God has used it to help at risk kids since 2009. The last
six have been at Urban Impact. I am still amazed at how God used this sport to serve in my
hometown. This was one of two callings the Lord put on my life to return home.
The other calling to return home was with Pine Valley Camp. Laurie and I spent vacations serving
there for four summers. We love this place.
I’ve been married to Laurie for 38 years. We have 2 adult children and seven grandchildren. I am so
thankful for Laurie, as she has supported me in this long and windy road home.
I retired from a full- time career as the President of Commercial Sales and Operations, for Best One
Tire & Service based in Monroe, Indiana on 12/31/19. I recently started a chapter for Truth at Work
and am looking forward to making an impact in marketplace ministry in Pittsburgh. I look forward
to serving a second term on parish council to make a difference at CCGF, in Pittsburgh and beyond.
Our future is extremely bright.
