Activities to Develop
Task 1. Making comparisons.
Write a description of the city where you live.
The description must include the following elements:
1. City overview
• Basic city information: population, age, location
• Characteristics: community and cultural preferences,
development, economy, etc.
2. Infrastructure
• Types of infrastructure could include housing, transportation,
energy, pollution control, and others.
3. City services
• Types of city services could include education, healthcare, fire,
police, etc.
4. City places
Describe the best places of the city. Why are they attractive and
the activities to do in those places.
5. City key issues
Describe issues of the city related to health & safety concerns.
Environmental issues. Security issues.
6. Include images.
• Do not take them from the internet. Take the pictures yourself of
your favorite places and include them in your description.
7. Conclusions.
Make a conclusion inviting people to visit your city.
Do not copy and paste from the internet. Use your own
words. Avoid plagiarism.
The description must be two pages long minimum.
Post your description in the forum in a PDF file.
Invite your partners to read and comment or correct it.
Make any corrections or changes to your work according to
feedback and comments given by your partners.
Task 2. Make a YouTube video.
Make a video in YouTube, when you appear talking about the
description of your city.
Include creative elements like music and images and music;
remember you need to appear talking in the video. The video
should last at least 2 minutes.
Task 3: Designing a Prezi Presentation
Work together with your classmates in order to make
comparisons between the cities you have described.
Create a Prezi presentation that allows you to present your
comparison between cities and places.
Read your partners’ participations and comment their
contributions. You should consider possible corrections regarding
structure, vocabulary and content. Keep in mind your
suggestions or corrections have to be well based and show
respect for your partners’ ideas and intellectual work.
The Prezi should include the work of all classmates who
participated in the group discussion. Include pictures and
creative elements.
The group facilitator must promote participation in the forum.

- Trabaja con tus compañeros para hacer comparaciones entre las
ciudades que has descrito.
- Crea una presentación Prezi que te permita presentar tu
comparación entre ciudades y lugares.
- Lee las participaciones de tus compañeros y comenta sus
aportaciones. Considera las posibles correcciones en cuanto a
estructura, vocabulario y contenido. Tenga en cuenta que sus
sugerencias o correcciones deben estar bien fundamentadas y mostrar
respeto por las ideas y el trabajo intelectual de sus socios.

8. General Guidelines for the Collaborative Work
Planning of Collaborative learning is a strategy that allows
