Literacy:
WE ARE STARTING TO WORK ON USING
This week, the books we read in reading all talked about animals and OUR LETTER SOUNDS TO BREAK WORDS
how the move! We read the Tortoise and the Hare , and a fun book APART AND BLEND SOUNDS TOGETHER.

week was the letter Aa. We did lots of practice listening for the /a/ IT WOULD BE GOOD PRACTICE AT HOME

We did more work with shapes! We talked about circles, rectangles, CK"
and squares. Telling the difference between squares and rectangles
is always tricky. Check out Seesaw to see all of the shapes we found THE KIDS ARE WORKING HARD ON
in the classroom! We also did some more practice with addition, WRITING THEIR NAME! WE ARE FOCUSING
subtraction, and comparing numbers. ON WRITING OUR NAME WITH A CAPITAL
FIRST, AND THE REST OF THE LETTERS
LOWERCASE.
Social Studies:
Our social studies lessons have centered around problem solving. We
talk about problems that we face every day, and how we can solve
them! We looked at pictures of Martin Luther King Jr. and discussed
how he solved the problems that he faced.
Science: We connected our science lessons with our literacy lessons
by learning about all kinds of amazing animals. We learned that
animals need food and water to survive just like plants!
