Essential Mathematics 2020
Unit 2 Formative Assessment 4
By Taylor Foley
Introduction
For this task I was required to create a personalised itinerary for visiting international students that
wish to spend the day visiting attractions in South East Queensland. To complete this assignment, I
had to respond to the topics of managing money and time and motion, using problem-solving and my
understanding of tables, graphs and diagrams.

The price of petrol is an average of $1.25/L within the week. The bus travelled 225.2km using 33.78L
litres. Costing a total of $42.225 for the transport.
225.2 km x 0.15L/100km = 33.78L
$1.25 x 33.78L
= $42.225

Conclusion
The trip around Brisbane was a successful trip. Expenses made did not go over the budget, in fact
there was $657.775 left over. Meaning that $60 for each student was enough to run the activities,
lunch, and transport. Fuel price ($1.25/L) was not expensive for the distance travelled in the day
(225.2km). Currency rate was easily found on the internet and comprehensible. While organising the
timetable was difficult as it included calculating the distance and time between the locations.
