Organizational Chart detail page:


1) Management Team:
The management team is the leadership of the company. The team is responsible for setting all policies of the
company and take responsibility for the actions of our employees.

The management team is the head of the ISO 9001:2015 and all quality actions.

a) Division Manager / General manager: This person, while reporting to the corporate office, oversees the rest
of the management team and the company overall. This person handles general plant employee issues
including hiring and firing, and oversees the plant operations through the plant manager / 2 nd shift manager and
the quality and safety manger. This person would typically coordinate with the sales department on customer
visits or similar needs.

b) Plant engineer: This person is the management team representative for the QMS, is the management team
representative on the safety committee, oversees environmental activities, oversees the maintenance
department, and consults on casting / quality engineering needs, while also planning plant improvement
opportunities. (This person often handles raw material purchases.)

c) Controller: This person, while reporting to the corporate office (on financial / insurance issues) handles and
oversees all financial / insurance / accounts payables for the company. This person is also actively involved in
human resources and also purchasing.

d) Sales Manager: This person is the contact point for all customer related needs. While often shifting items to
other areas for handling the issues, this person is the main primary contact. This person also deals with all order
placement, invoicing / accounts receivables, our sales representatives, quoting, etc. This person is also actively
involved in human resources.

2) Plant Manager:
The plant manager is responsible for all daily activities on the shop floor, disciplining employees as necessary, is
actively involved in casting engineering and in quality troubleshooting. The maintenance supervisor coordinates
maintenance activities through the plant manager to maximize uptime.

3) 2nd Shift Manager


The 2nd shift manager is responsible for all daily activities on the shop floor during 2 nd shift, including any
necessary planning for 3rd shift. This person actively works in the Set-up / Scheduling department also..

4) Quality / Safety Manager:


This position has for a number of years been one person splitting the duties.

a) This person as quality manager coordinates with the sales department concerning customer quality concerns,
oversees the ISO program, handles all CA / PA needs, etc. This person also handles all metallurgical activities.

b) This person as safety manager coordinates with the various plant supervisors / lead men / employees about
safety issues that come up. This person keeps track of injuries, near misses, coordinates safety training, plans
and oversees all safety committee meetings and activities. This person handles all purchases of safety related
equipment and supplies.

5) Pattern Department:
This group of individuals takes care of receiving patterns, checking them out, handling modifications whether we
do it or a pattern shop does it. They coordinate with quoting to provide information needed. They gate and rig
patterns, handle minor to major repairs and generally do anything a larger shop might do except build new
patterns. This department also works with quality to ensure the customer receives the parts they need to the
dimensional accuracy they need.

6) Set-up / Scheduling:
This person works with the sales department and plant management to schedule production of molds and cores
to meet our customers’ needs. This person also works with the pattern department to ensure patterns are set up
correctly for production and with quality to ensure our customers receive the parts they need when they need
them.

7) Melt / Pour:
This department manages all the set-up of molds for pouring, planning the daily melting requirements, making
the proper melt charges, melting the required metal to the proper requirements, and pouring the metal into the
molds.

8) Shot Blasting:
This department is responsible for shaking out the molds, cleaning the castings of sand and providing the
grinding room with casting ready to grind.

9) Grinding / Inspection:
This department is responsible for de-gating and grinding the castings to the customers’ needs. This department
inspects the castings, palletizes them, wraps as necessary, handles all shipping paperwork and loads the trucks.

10) Maintenance:
Maintenance is responsible for running our preventative maintenance program and in the event of unscheduled
breakdowns, fixing the machinery in a timely manner. The department maintains adequate supplies and tools in
proper condition to ensure maximum uptime of Kent Foundry’s equipment and facilities.
