REFLECTION #1: ITEM ANALYSIS
Teaching is not all about imparting knowledge towards our students. Teachers are like gardeners,
we plant, cultivate and take care of our students to make it flourish. We guide them in understanding their
learning progress through assessing them.
Item analysis serve as a great help because it is a structured reflection that helps breakdown a test
into meaningful components for the students. In assessing students, they must undergo first into a pre-test
item analysis to identify which lessons they already know and where they need support. We, teachers can
determine where to start in students learning. Also, post test item analysis shows what students learned,
which lessons they mastered and how their learnings has grown. Witnessing development and progress
from students feels a great impact for us teachers. It simply implies that we play one of our vital roles in
their learning journey and they learned what intended for them to acquire.
Over all, item analysis is a lead for us teachers to know more of our students in order to select an
adequate strategies, methods and techniques that suits in their learning styles and a measurement to
evaluate if the students learned what they need to learned. As a teacher, it is my duty to adjust and
provide supports for students who need guidance in learning process.
REFLECTION #2: DATA ORGANIZATION
Teachers job has been considered as one of the noblest professions. Educators always played the
role of catalysts for different changes in society. In order to make that changes to happen, we must give
excellent education for our young minds.
Data organization are important tools in teaching and learning process. Data from the students
will serve as a measurement for the teachers in creating and selecting approaches and methods to be
applied in teaching process. Using different data organization, it will be easier to identify if the students
learned what are expected outcomes from them. Such as in tabular, textual and graphical data
presentation, we clearly modified if our teaching style is effective by seeing the scores of the students
being presented in data organization.
As a future educator, having the knowledge on how to collect, plot and analyze data will be
helpful for me to be aware and informed the areas I need to adjust, develop and progress. In that way, I
could contribute in influencing my learners in making a change by molding them the education and
assessment they deserve and beneficial for our society also.
