The Simplest Reason There Are Only 5 Platonic Solids Is

1. There are only five Platonic solids because at each vertex of a polyhedron, the internal angles must sum to less than 360 degrees, or the shape would flatten out. The only regular polygons that satisfy this are triangles, squares, and pentagons, yielding the five solids - the tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron, cube, and dodecahedron. 2. A geometric shape is defined by its properties and not its orientation or location. A pattern is a regular repetition of shapes or elements. A diagram uses visual elements to represent information symbolically. 3. Filipino culture was shaped by its pre-colonial roots as diverse nations and tribes, as well as

[Link] THERE ARE ONLY FIVE PLATONIC SOLIDS?EXPLAIN BRIEFLY.

 Based on my research, the simplest reason there are only 5 Platonic Solids is:
[Link] each vertex at least 3 faces meet (maybe more).
 2. When we add up the internal angles that meet at a vertex,
it must be less than 360 degrees.
 3. Because at 360° the shape flattens out!4. And, since a Platonic Solid's faces are all identical regular
polygons, we get:

A regular triangle has internal angles of 60°, so we can have:

 3 triangles (3×60°=180°) meet

 4 triangles (4×60°=240°) meet
 or 5 triangles (5×60°=300°) meet

A square has internal angles of 90°, so there is only:

 3 squares (3×90°=270°) meet

A regular pentagon has internal angles of 108°, so there is only:

 3 pentagons (3×108°=324°) meet

A regular hexagon has internal angles of 120°, but 3×120°=360° which won't work because at
360° the shape flattens out.

So a regular pentagon is as far as we can go.

And this is the result:

Angles at Vertex
At each vertex: Solid
(Less than 360°)

3 triangles meet 180° tetrahedron

4 triangles meet 240° octahedron

5 triangles meet 300° icosahedron

3 squares meet 270° cube

3 pentagons meet 324° dodecahedron

Anything else has 360° or more at a vertex, which is impossible. Example: 4 regular pentagons (4×108° = 432°)
won't work. And 3 regular hexagons (3×120° = 360°) won't work either.

And that is the simplest reason.

2. DETERMINE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN GEOMETRIC SHAPES, PATTERNS AND
DIAGRAMS.

 A GEOMETRIC SHAPES is the geometric information which remains when location, scale,
orientation and reflection are removed from the description of a geometric object. While a
PATTERN is a regularity in the world, in human-made design, or in abstract ideas. As such,
the elements of a pattern repeat in a predictable manner. A geometric pattern is a kind of
pattern formed of geometric shapes and typically repeated like a wallpaper design. Any of
the senses may directly observe patterns. And DIAGRAM is a symbolic representation of
information using visualization techniques. Diagrams have been used since ancient times on
walls of caves, but became more prevalent during the Enlightenment.

3. DISCUSS THE FILIPINO CULTURE AND THE ARTS USING THE CONCEPTS IN
GEOMETRY.

 In my own point of view, the culture of the Philippines a combination of cultures of the East
and West. Filipino identity was created primarily as a result of pre-colonial cultures, colonial
influences and foreign traders intermixing and gradually evolving together. In pre-colonial
times, the Philippines was a divided set of nations, islands and tribes being ruled by their
own kings, chieftains, lakan, datus, rahas, and sultan. Every nation has its own identity and
some are even part of a larger empire outside of what is now the Philippines. Manila, for
example, was once part of the Islamic Sultanate of Brunei and THE Sulu Archipelago was
also part of the Hindu Majahapit. He advent of colonial rule in the islands marked the
beginning of the Philippines as an entity, a collection of Southeast Asian countries united
under Spanish Empire.
