DIVIDING DECIMAL NUMBERS

At school cafeteria, Jasmine purchased food for herself and three for her friends. Altogether, she
purchased 3 hotdogs, 1 order of nuggets, 2 hamburgers, a pizza slice and 2 milks. If Jasmine gave the
cashier twenty dollars, how much change will Jasmine receive?

Hamburger = $2.25
Chicken Nuggets = $2.45
Pizza Slice = $3.00
Milk = $0.50

3 x $1.75 = $5.25
1 x $2.45 = $2.45
2 x $2.25 = $4.5
1 x $3.00 = $3.00
2 x $0.50 = $1.00
$16.20

Change = $20.00 - 16.20 = $3.8

Lady bugs are sometimes used by farmers to kill unwanted pests that damage their crops. Lady bugs
weigh about 0.021 grams. If a farmer orders 5000 ladybugs, how much would they weigh altogether?

0.021 x 5000 = 105.0 g

Gwen has a piece of wood that is 8.25 feet in length. Gwen needs to cut pieces that are 0.75 feet in
length . How many pieces of 0.75ft in length can Gwen cut from the piece of 8.25?

11 pieces of 0.75ft woods.
