Course Title: PHILIPPINE TOURISM, CULTURE AND GEOGRAPHY
Course Code: TCHM 101
Course Description: This course presents comprehensive coverage of the major tourist destinations in the Philippines. Major discussions will be on political structures and
subdivisions, geographical characteristics, major attractions, gastronomy, culture and traditions of the various regions of the country leading to the realization
of the potentials of the Tourism Industry of the Philippines. Students will also have a comprehensive knowledge about the mechanism, logistics, operations
and management of the tourism network system in the Philippines with its inherent physical and cultural resources as seen in the various provinces of the
country.
Duration: 3 hours per week for 18 weeks for a total of 54 hours
Prerequisite:
Course Learning 1. Describe the tourism industry of the Philippines and its major components.
Outcomes: 2. Identify Philippine regions, its culture, heritage, gastronomy and geography.
3. Discuss major tourism destination and spots on each of the Philippine region.
4. Identify tourism strength and practices on each of the Philippine region.
5. Classify each Tourist Feast and festivities and its comprehensive background.
6. Analyze Tourism operations and management its Philippine Tourism network.
7. Value the importance of Philippine Tourism to the economy of the Philippines.
